Yes, it's refreshing to see a bollywood film that isn't solely a romance - there are too few original ideas these days. This film is about the Bombay mafia, and in particular the son of a Bombay don who gets crazed with power and loses control and respect for human life. There is the obligatory romantic angle between Ajay Devgan and Tabu, but this is thankfully kept to a minimum. The trouble is the film just doesn't carry. A weak storyline and poor acting from the main villain contribute the the film's failure to get the audience involved in the plot. Although Ajay and Tabu are brilliant at acting, their talents are wasted in this film. The music for the film - by A. R. Rehman -is really good, but the songs are intrusive and do not fit in with the feel of the movie. Overall, it is not surprising this film has flopped.

This is the movie in which Aishwarya answered all the critics who said she couldn't act. Both she and Ajay Devgan put in superb performances which do justice to the great script and direction. Salman doesn't have as demanding a role, but is adequate. Yesteryear star Helen puts in a cameo as Salman's mother. The movie is shot in stunning locales in Gujarat /Rajastan with beautiful costumes and brilliant music which blends in with the film. From the look of the film, it is obviously high-budget, which is why it is a shame that there are some problems in really basic technical areas (continuity mistakes etc.). Also, the ending was a huge let-down - corny and unrealistic, and unworthy of the rest of the film. Despite this, i would highly recommend you see this film - it will show you that hindi films are not ALL bad.

This is the worst hindi film I have ever seen. It conforms to all the stereotypes of bad Hindi films. The plot is ridiculous, the acting over the top, and Shah Rukh manages to fit in a couple of song sequences even though he is playing the character of a dumb man.
