Apparently the writer had a grade 10 science education and a few buzz words, and figured he could make a science fiction script. It shows. On some level even he must have been aware how thin this script was, because he had a mostly naked actress (Margie Fisco) connected to his pseudo-scientific lab gadgetry. This was wise on his part -- it was the highlight of the film for me. Oh, except for the lovely performance of Lisa Lang as a woman transplanted with the brain of a cat. A monstrosity of a film. At least it was well named. I don't understand why it has been renamed The Atomic Brain... except that it makes a pointless film seem even moreso. Don't see this film. Unless you see the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version.
Any movie that opens with the line "The gun is good... the penis is evil" can't be all bad. It's cheese, yes, but GOOD cheese. I'm sure Sean Connery lists it amongst his proudest achievements. :)
Strange that Mark Hamill could go from having one of the most enviable looking careers (in 1977) to being cast in low-budget junk like this. This movie would *still* have been bad if it was released in 1977. The effects are embarrassing and the script is lame. Who'd have guessed that Harrison Ford was the real future star in Star Wars?
