This was like a female version of Terminator 2, though I can see why fans regard the Terminator franchise as being near an end. The opening sequence was a bit of a surprise, and I liked the idea of reuniting director James Cameron with stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, and the action and chase and time travel scenes were first rate and up to snuff as far as Terminator movies are concerned, and the characters are good, but I think the movie could have been better in terms of story. It was mostly a rehash of the other Terminator movies. If you are a fan of the franchise you might like it.

I read the short story this was based on, and it would be interesting to compare the two. The movie was sort of like it, this time with the monkey banging on a drum instead of crashing cymbals to cause deaths. Theo James does a good job in a dual role as twins who have to hide the monkey and clash with each other, and the deaths were gruesome and actually kind of fun to watch, and the cast worked well together. The movie was pretty fun to watch with the monkey scenes and a good setup in the store at the beginning. Overall not too bad an experience to watch and a good Stephen King adaptation. I recommend it.

This puts a spin on things and varies the movie formula from the previous movies in the series by having Jennifer come back and being in therapy and becoming a vigilante and seeking revenge on people who committed rapes and not showing the actual crimes. Her revenge scenes were toned down but still a bit difficult to watch. The therapy session and interactions with the police officers were highlights, and the revenge scenes were a bit intense and interesting, but this continuation/sequel was okay at best. See it mostly if you are a fan of the series and the lead actress and this type of movie.
