Objection! I'm Not Gay!

First things first, the story. It's basically a by numbers enemies to lovers trope, about two opposite lawyer who married after drunk. The story itself isn't that special, and even the element he-saved-him-in-the-past could be written better, but the chemistry is hot. Like sizzling hot. But that's not the reason I ended up writing the review. I love what the male leads wear in this drama. The suits, the not-so subtle color combination (my fave is their look in the court; pairing the green suit and the tie and handkerchief on another guy), and the naughty decision to use animal print in their look steal my heart. And the brooches! Ugh, as soon I saw them, I just order the similar ones lol. I really like it~ For the first time, I feel like the short drama doesn't looks cheap because of their limited budget. Bravo, Wardrobe department guys! Kudos on your hard work~ 💕

This is one of my many new favorite shorts. The casting and acting were both on fire from all sides.

Ramiro Leal and Grant Thomas owned and developed these characters so well.

Kit is the honorable defense attorney with a sick sister and lots of debit who ends up married to Daniel after a break-up and a drunken night.

Daniel is the smooth talking prosecution attorney who secretly works for the mafia and hates the cycle he's stuck in.

Their flash marriage changes both of their lives for the better...and reunites two people who were destined from a young age.

I loved that this is a new storyline and new dialogue. Nothing regurgitated. Lawyers...sold. As an avid procedural drama fan, I loved this new angle in VertLand. There are a few out with a divorce attorney lead, but this defense versus prosecution was a super cool change.

The humor...double sold! These two actors sold this relationship growth so very well. Watch Kit and how he changes and opens up and slowly leans into Daniel. Once they start gelling the humor and the playful couple moments really kick in. For Daniel, he also opens up but his is more of 'removing the mask.' Both Ramiro and Grant are stellar at "acting with your eyes" and "acting with your body" which makes them great Leads for fast paced verts. I can't wait for more from both of them.

This is a new MUST WATCH for me. Chemistry and humor and cute couple moments abound!

Add in @abigailstanton as a baddie mafia miss with a pump action shotgun in a ball gown and @kelseysusino as a hilariously devious hot mess in heels and what you get is casting GOLD!
