Fans of Kaiju No. 8 already knew that their favorite anime series was going to return this summer. They were still missing a specific release date, though, and that finally changed this weekend. The official Kaiju No.8 website and Crunchyroll confirmed that the show locked in a release date for the next month: Season 2 is debuting on July 19. The announcement comes on the heels of the worldwide release of the compilation movie Kaiju No.8: Mission Recon.
This is the release date for the series in Japan, but the Crunchyroll announcement suggests that the anime streaming platform will follow the same release pattern from Season 1, with episodes released simultaneously with the Japanese exhibition. However, the streamer is yet to officially confirm that this will be the case with the new episodes. Additionally, the Kaiju No. 8 website announced that Season 2 will also stream on X/Twitter at the same time that the episodes air in Japan.

If you are hyped up for the Jujutsu Kaisen movie, there is some great news for you. This week, the official website of the anime series announced that the upcoming compilation film will feature additional, never-before-seen content. More specifically, the movie will feature a short film titled "Jojo Stroll." Details of the story are yet to be announced, and Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death is slated to hit theaters on July 16.
So far, all we know is that the short film will center around Satoru Gojō (voiced by Yūichi Nakamura in the original Japanese and by Kaiji Tang in the English dub), Suguru Getō (Takahiro Sakurai/Lex Lang), and Shoko Ieiri (Aya Endo/Ryan Bartley). The official website unveiled two first-look images that suggest that the short film will be a calm change of pace for the story. In one of them, the trio seems to be inside a movie theater.

Solo Leveling fans are keeping their eyes peeled for news regarding their new favorite anime series. Last month, Season 2 of the series wrapped, but there was no immediate announcement about the hit show returning for Season 3. Even though the title's popularity heavily suggests that the show has a long history ahead of it, nothing is set in stone and only an official announcement will do. However, one recent new development might have hinted at what the future holds for the show.
This past week, producer Atsushi Kaneko from A-1 Pictures (the production company behind Solo Leveling) took to social media to post a cryptic announcement with a happy twist. Kaneko didn't say anything specific, but the producer did write "happy news coming" with several exclamation points and, for some reason, six planet emojis. The producer used the tag #SoloLeveling and tagged Crunchyroll in the post, so at the very least...

Ahead of its Season 2 premiere, Kaiju No. 8 is smashing its way into theaters with a brand-new anime movie. However, does Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon do justice to Shonen Jump's breakout hit of 2024?
Rotten Tomatoes, the popular review aggregator website for TV and films, has launched its review page for Kaiju’s No. 8’s new anime movie. Mission Recon, similar to Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-, is a compilation film that recaps the major story events from Season 1, just in time for the upcoming premiere of Season 2 this July. Only a handful of officially published reviews are available to read online, meaning that an official Rotten Tomatoes score of "Fresh" or "Rotten" has yet to be given. However, the several reviews already up and running offer a clear enough picture of whether anime fans should bother with this theatrical adaptation of Shonen Jump’s latest title, as well as revealing...

This weekend was important for anime fans, as the fan event AnimeJapan 2025 took place and brought news from some of the most famous anime titles in the world. One of them was Kaiju No.8, a hugely popular new title that went on radio silence ever since its Season 2 release window was announced. Now, fans can finally check out the first trailer for the new episodes, which are slated to start rolling out in July.
The first thing to notice about the new trailer for Kaiju No.8 is that the anime series is once again bringing its high-quality urban artwork that was a standout in Season 1. This time, however, there is a lot more destruction in sight as characters deal with the aftermath of the brutal fight that made Kafka (voiced by Masaya Fukunishi) go berserk. Meanwhile, Isao (Tesshō Genda) is hard at work on his mission to create the most powerful kaiju-stopping Division ever.
