Las mil muertes de Nora Dalmasso

This is the question I have been asking myself for nearly 20 years, and it seems that if you want to know the killer's name you'll have to Google it, because the series prefers to tiptoe over its most critical element. I happened to live in Argentina in 2006, and to work a lot in Cordoba province when the crime happened. Those were happy times, the country was slowly recovering from its 2001 "corralito" crisis, inflation was low and Kirchner was still an obscure but reliable president. The crime was "the" news of the day, together with a clean, slim, rejuvenated Maradona and some paper mill conflict with Uruguay to spice things up. Those were happy times indeed in the political and economic fronts, and all we wanted to know is who killed Norita. 3 chapters and 150' later we still don't know, no matter that the identity is already known. Was it consensual sex, as the medical examiners suggest, and if so, how could it end with her dead? The crime can't be prosecuted again due to statute of limitations, so if you want to know more, Google it and ask Netflix what legal reasons prevent them from disclosing it in the series. Pretty disappointing although solidly filmed, so these are not spoilers. A few local journalists should be prosecuted for cruel harassment of the family, but that's another story.

No idea why they stretched it out over three episodes.

In light of the tragedy that struck Nora and her family, it's painful to say - but the series won't bring them much sympathy, simply because of how poorly it was made.

For three episodes it was just moaning about how terrible it was for the family.

On top of that, it's all chaos. It's hard to follow the sequence of the events it's so boring and badly done.

Because we're listening to all this crying and moaning for three whole episodes, we start to lose any sense of sympathy as it becomes grotesque.

For three episodes it's just: "It was horrible," "It was sad," "I suffered," "I used to be cheerful, now I'm not," "Dad used to be cheerful, now he's not." I couldn't wait for it to end.

I don't know if it's just me but the sound / dubbing is utterly appalling and for me made this unwatchable. Watching in English, the translation is dubbed over the top of the people speaking with the underlying voices not muted so you e basically got two people speaking at once / over the top of one another. It was for me unintelligible and irritating beyond belief. The editors should have just muted the underlying voices! Can't carry on with this. It's rubbish for that reason - no idea if the actual episodes are any use - good luck if you can persevere with the sound! No idea why the episode producers have elected to do this as it makes the audio almost unintelligible and certainly highly irritating at best.

If you watch this documentary expecting the usual Netflix true crime fare, you're going to be disappointed. Here the focus is not so much on the murder as on the reaction to it among the media and the public, and what it reveals - largely through interviews with family members - is shocking. There were no depths to which the media would not stoop to get their story. Grieving family members were hounded, tormented, mocked, vilified, serving it up to a public hungry for spectacle and eager to pass judgement. The documentary shows a truly vile side to human nature and a society that normalises rubbernecking at tragedy. And the uncomfortable truth is that by consuming all this true crime stuff, we're in no position to judge.

Some reviewers have mentioned problems with dubbing. I was able to watch it in Spanish with English subtitles - maybe that;s a regional difference?
