Caedes

It's low budget horror, so you should know what to expect then. It is funny at times (some dialog choices are nice) and the characters are as out there as you would imagine they'd be. The effects are quite decent for a movie like this (which cannot always be said about the "acting" unfortunately).

You can have a couple of laughs if you watch it with friends (kind of like a party movie, though there are better ones to get excited about of course). Don't expect there to be nudity, but there is a lot of gore/blood around. It takes a bit at the start, but after that it's a "festival" of violence if you want to call it that ... watch the trailer to be certain if this is for you though

"Caedes - Forestglade of Death (Die Lichtung des Todes)" is an awesome movie created by German productions near Munich. It was possible to arrange a great selection of excellent actors. It's a quite funny splatter film with sophisticated SFX (no blood or body computer-generated imagery)! It contains an interesting story about a still current political issue presented in a realistic and sarcasm way at the same time! The beginning of the story is structured in a classic way. A bunch of young people make plans for a camping trip in a forest. They meet a lot of other people there and have fun together. They have a party and everything seems to be fine, as expected. Even so the situation is supposed to turn overnight, literally. Further the story takes its bloody course and rises to a horrifying revelation... A definitely exciting movie for all zombie heads and horror fans :D Comedy and horror alternate with one another continually. It can definitely keep abreast of grand Hollywood movies! All in all, a great movie considering the available resources. :)

I must admit that I had expected a tad more seriousness from the 2015 German movie "Caedes" as it was labeled as an action horror movie here on IMDb. But as it turns out, "Caedes" is more of a goofy home movie project with zombies and action sequences.

It didn't feel like a proper movie, and it was such a hard movie to sit through. In fact, it was so boring and downright ridiculous that I managed to survive a staggering 47 minutes of the ordeal. With each passing minute growing more and more tempted to turn off the movie, unless it upped its game and become more watchable and interesting. It just never did.

The storyline in "Caedes" is one of the dumbest I have suffered through in a zombie movie, and believe you me, I have seen a great many number of low budget zombie movies in my time. "Caedes", however, went straight to the top of the class of low budget and pointless zombie movies. There was just nothing properly coherent about the storyline, and it felt like director Slavko Spionjak was just making things up as the filming progressed.

The acting in the movie was bland at best. But then again, the actors and actresses had absolutely nothing to work with in terms of an actual proper script or interesting characters.

What "Caedes" did have working for it, though, was the adequate zombie effects and make-up. Now, it wasn't up to level with stuff you see in "The Walking Dead", mind you, but for a low budget zombie movie such as this, it was actually fairly decent effects.

Some of the scenes in the movie were just cringing to watch. I mean, why would you be able to punch your fist through two layers of bones when punching someone in the face? Why would a person's skull lose its strength just because someone turned into a zombie? And it happened instantaneously, nonetheless. And the sudden workout montage in the middle of the movie was just so out of place.

I have no intention of returning to finish this German zombie movie, as it failed to impress or entertain me in any way. And my rating of the movie lands on a very generous two out of ten stars, based mostly on that despite it being a low budget movie, they managed to make it look like a fair enough movie project.

This is definitely one of the dumbest of zombie movies I have stumbled upon yet.

First of all I have to say, this one is a low budget production. You see it, but what you also might see is, that's a project from the heart. You got a lot (funny) overacting, jokes, splatter (real professional and good looking) and the explanation, what "Ceades" really means...

It's not perfect, but if you want an entertaining movie-evening, you should give it a shot.

There is one point, I also have to mention: With Tobias Licht there is a really great villain in this movie. I would have wished for more screen time.

There should be a comedy title added to this action, horror. In the intro when I saw one of the main characters doing drunken style Kung Fu, I knew this was going to be a hit. Don't get me wrong, the script could of been better, but some scenes did make me laugh out loud. It's not Shaun of the Dead and it's not trying to be, but it is a pleasant surprise of a gem. I liked it and it's worth a watch.
