"Burgermeestersmoord" was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The entire production screamed amateur hour, and it was hard to take anything seriously. The acting was not just bad-it was cringeworthy. Every scene felt forced, with actors who seemed out of place and completely disconnected from their characters. Even the lead actors looked like they were just reading lines, rather than delivering any sort of believable performance. The storyline might have had potential, but it was buried under layers of unconvincing drama, awkward pauses, and clunky dialogue. The cinematography and editing were equally rough, making the movie feel more like a high school film project than a professionally produced thriller. The suspense fell flat, and any attempt at drama felt unintentional. I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone expecting a quality movie experience; it's honestly not worth the time.

The atmosphere, the music... You are taken into the story from start to finish. How those mayors struggled during WWII, which the community had no knowledge of. Was someone really an NSB member or did he secretly work for the resistance?

And what choice do you make? Do you cooperate safely or resist? And where do you draw the line, knowing that everything has consequences.

The price for freedom has been payed.

Realizing this was a true story makes it all the more impressive!

And just like that other film where you already know the ending (Titanic), this film manages to captivate you from start to finish.
