INSPECTOR RISHI begins with a banger scene, and the scene sets the tone perfectly for whatever is coming. But once the proceedings gets going, you slowly beging to realize that you aren't hoing to get that high which the beginning sequence provided. And that's the biggest problem with this series. It begins with such a brilliant sequence that it never quite manages to top it, and keeps chasing that high, which eludes it right up till the end.

The series has a interesting story to tell and it mixes folklore with relevant social issues, but due to its tonal inconsistencies and below average writing, it fails to reach up to its desired potential. This is a mystery thriller series with a touch of horror in between, but due to its dull pace in several portions, the mystery doesn't feel as tantalizing as it should have. The series could have easily done well with 8 episodes instead of 10, but due to several outstretched portions and subplots, it doesn't leave a desired impact. The red herrings are nicely done, and the central mystery is nicely built, but the unraveling part isn't as good, and the end twist isn't that surprising.

Acting is superb all around, and technically the series is fine too barring some poor visual effects and awkward fight sequences. Overall, it's a fine series that doesn't jusify its length and could have done well with some editing and a better writing.

Rishi, Satya, Aayannar, and Chitra deliver convincing performances, though Kathy shines as a standout character while Viji adds an amusing touch. The series reached a climax that left audiences on the edge of their seats, keeping them guessing until the very end.

Vanarachi's presence on screen is simply mesmerizing. Each character contributes meaningfully to the plot, leaving no loose ends. The picturesque locations and scenery add another layer of depth to the presentation. Even the Hindi dubbing is commendable, ensuring a seamless viewing experience. I must say that the show started off really well, especially with the backdrop of an eerie forest and village near it .Even the opening scene was pretty dope. Inspite of few cliches like the troubled past of the lead detective, the subordinate not approving with the senior. We might start guessing the story plot somewhere by the 4th episode, but you'd watch it still for the good narration. However the show drags on unnecessarily and is maybe a couple of episodes too long. Some of the side storylines were too cliched and could have been made better. Overall a decent show that has different yet not unique plotline, great camera, decent acting by the characters, and is definitely watchable.

Fabulous cinematography. A gem that I missed almost for a year, aesthetically made. It sounded like a perfect horror almost until the end of the tenth episode and then the tragic past is revealed. Turmoil of emotions, losing a loved one and betrayal in the name of love, superstitious beliefs and a twist in the end! Undoubtedly one of Naveen Chandra's best! I'm a huge fan of Sunaina and she nailed it in this one. I wish she had more screen space. Some scenes like the elephants one, feeding of birds and the meeting spot were just stunning. And last but not the least, incredible bgm! One of the best web series from South on prime. The locations chosen for the series were thoughtful and mind blowing!
