This movie is a dramatized version of the Godhra Kand incident. The narration of the story is well-paced. It keeps you hooked till the end. It sticks to the central story without adding extra drama. The narration tries to be balanced without hurting any community.
The performances of the lead cast are brilliant. I loved the performance of Vikrant Massey and Riddhi Dogra. They nailed their roles perfectly.
A few of the things that I didn't like about this movie: 1. It attempts to play safe too much by adding certain devotional elements unrelated to the storyline, especially towards the end.
2. A few scenes when the journalists start to investigate independently do not feel realistic.
Overall it is a good movie with a gripping storyline and an exceptional performance.

The storyline in The Sabarmati Report is phenomenal. The movie does a fantastic job of creating suspense while addressing a serious historical event. Vikrant Massey's character is inspiring, as he fearlessly dives into the unknown, seeking justice. Raashii Khanna's role adds an emotional layer that makes the story even more engaging. Each twist felt like a revelation, pulling me further into the narrative. The story resonates deeply, not only as a thriller but also as a reminder of how crucial it is to remember and understand our history. It's a remarkable film with a storyline that's both thrilling and deeply moving.
The storyline of The Sabarmati Report is a masterclass in suspense and storytelling. From the very beginning, the plot pulls you in, layering suspense with emotional depth. Vikrant Massey's journey through each twist and revelation feels incredibly real, and Raashii Khanna's character brings a much-needed emotional counterbalance. This movie doesn't just entertain; it challenges the audience to think about history, memory, and responsibility. It's a storyline that combines thriller elements with social commentary, making it one of the best cinematic experiences I've had in a long time. Highly Recommended.
"The Sabarmati Report" is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language political drama film directed by Dheeraj Sarna. The film is based on the Godhra train burning incident of 27 February 2002, involving the Sabarmati Express train ¹.
The film stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra in lead roles. The movie follows the story of two journalists who uncover a dark conspiracy in the wake of the tragedy.
The film received mixed reviews from critics. Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave the film 1.5 stars out of 5, stating that it had "no nuance, just judgement" ¹. On the other hand, Amit Bhatia from ABP News gave the film 3.5 stars out of 5, praising its bold approach to the subject matter and the performances of the lead actors ¹.
Overall, I would give the film 3 stars out of 5. While it tackles a sensitive and important topic, it falls short in terms of nuance and depth. However, the performances of the lead actors are commendable, and the film is worth watching for those interested in Indian history and politics.

I had initially decided to put this on the back burner due to the dismal performance of this movie at the box office and the truckload of negative reviews. However, since a friend of mine worked on this film, he suggested I give it a chance.
As the title suggests, this movie revolves around the catastrophic burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, Gujarat, where 59 people were burned alive. It took nearly 15 years to establish that this was not an accident but a heinous crime fueled by hate.
The movie wastes no time in getting to the point, and the unfolding drama immediately piques your interest. However, after a while, it starts to feel a bit sluggish as the narrative becomes somewhat stagnant. That said, the story picks up pace once the investigation begins. The movie could have been more engaging by delving deeper into the emotional plight of the victims and highlighting the gruesomeness of the burning train. Additionally, the makers shy away from explicitly addressing how a particular religion's communal hatred played a role in this heinous crime.
Vikrant Massey shines throughout as a journalist and fits the role perfectly. Riddhi Dongra, as the senior journalist, is the true star of this film. She portrays a headstrong, ambitious woman with remarkable realism. Raashi Khanna appears in the latter half of the movie but makes her presence felt with a sincere performance.
While the film lacks suspense to make the ongoing investigation truly thrilling, the camaraderie between Vikrant and Raashi makes it a compelling watch. However, the graphics and art departments could have done a better job depicting the burned train.
This may not be a perfect movie, but it addresses one of the most significant chapters in Indian history that we must all be aware of. It's a decent watch, suitable for viewing with the family.
