Another Jlo doc/movie cringe fest. If Yaoundé had any doubts of whether or not JLo was a raging narcissist then look no further. Not sure why I watched other than morbid curiosity after reading about how bad it was. And yep! It's bad. This multi millionaire for over 3 decades is now trying a new angle... to make the audience feel sorry for her somehow?? Didn't get enough love as a child yards yards yadda. And that her mother is actually a narcissist. Welp. Clearly she has no problem throwing people under the bus if it serves her. She has always talked about how supportive and great her mother is but now it's suddenly "poor me". There is a scene where she "sings" about being broken and it is soooooooo bad. I had to turn it off at that point because it was borderline creepy. These celebs are so out of touch and self obsessed. I'm over it.
I was looking forward to this documentary because I read her book when it first came out and I liked it. I think this documentary should have explain why she does not allowed workers to look at her. Why she makes her manors work 16 hours 7 days a week and why she took money from the waitress after Ben Affleck gave a good tip to the worker. I thought this film was going to be about empowerment of women still growing through difficulty but it was more about trying to find sympathy for herself. Which in that case she should have explained why she miss treat the staff and her back up dancers. OMG.
I don't even know, how to start.
This is the most pretentious BS I've ever seen.
It seems totally clear that JLo did this in a total attack of vanity, drunk on her own magnificence, encouraged by her beau - or was he forced to be involved?
There is absolutely nothing going on beside her singing lame pop songs and trying to be passed off for 30.
Even her friends here are only around <30, and she is also "acting" like a twenty-something. She is a beautiful, gorgeous woman - even without all that filters - where is the point of this?
I felt second hand embarrassing for that successful grown up woman that seems to depend on staying 30 forever.
The Plot is as thick as a phrase in a poetry album/friendship book, and an insult to intelligence.
There is not one scene without her in the whole "movie", even in the credits her face is next to the names of everyone! By the way: What drew Jane Fonda into this crap?
If there would have been a tiny bit of self-irony, there would be hope. But this project's whole nature is doggedness, vanity...and despair.

Scrolling through Prime for something to watch and came across "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story by J-Lo. I went in with an open mind; not having read any reviews, so had no preconceptions.
It started off OK, pretty visuals, but I quickly realised (within the first 10 minutes or so) that this was some cringe-worthy, self-indulgent, vanity project (thank goodness for the fast forward button!!!)
I did press 'play' at regular intervals to see if (by some miracle) things had improved, but no... my time & intellect was wasting away with each passing minute!!!! ...Dramatic? Nope; it really was THAT bad!!! In addition, I felt nothing but second-hand embarrassment for her as she danced her way through each mind-numbing scene (not to mention the God-awful soundtrack!)
I mean, who actually advised her that this project was a good thing to do? ...must have been the same people who advised Beyonce that her "Black Is King" garbage was a good idea 🙄
If I had to describe this 'film' in 3 words, it would be: Egotistical. Tedious. Cringe-worthy.

This is suppose to be a "movie"? Really?
The bad: let's get things straight. This is nothing more but a one hour compilation of video clips glued to together by some incomprehensible storyline which I wont even attempt to make sense of.
Dont get me wrong, if you are an avid J-lo fan, go right ahead and enjoy the several songs and you probably wont mind the chitchat scenes in between the videos that supposedly elevates this product to a "movie".
But if you are not a diehard J-lo fan, better stay far away from this videoclip compilatioin, because that is what it truly is. Nothing more, nothing less than a bunch of fancy looking music video clips.
At an endnote: I truly do appreciate Jennifer Lopez as an actress. She has proven herself to be a really solid actress. But this is not a movie. This is not even a music documentary. This is a music video compilation dresssed up as ....????
