The first one wasn't perfect, or great, but it was good enough to have a sequel. This isn't the sequel it deserved.
Everyone was over acting and ruining 80% of the scenes they were in. This applies to every last character on screen.
The major who now no longer reports to anyone at any time.
The ridiculously useless scientist, who thinks the major is flirting with her, then needs help doing everything.
Oh look, we found a super secret burial site, and seemingly endless holy water.... because no priests exist to bless any other... and their method of conveyance is a bucket line. Why the fk didn't they just get a water pump and some hoses? A firetruck would be perfectly equipped to do just this AND spray out a large quantity... but yeah, let's get a little and waste most of it uselessly.
It's like at no point in time did they even try to think and use logic, just whatever came to their mind first and went with it.

This movie is somehow worse than the previous one. The dialogue is so bad, it's like the writers have never participated in a real life conversation before. If aliens were to write a human interaction, this would be the result. Utter garbage, and an embarrassment of Norwegian entertainment. It's genuinely embarrassing that this movie represents my country. The plot and action is all copy-paste from Hollywood, and not in a good way. Very bland and predictable. The actors try their best with what they have but it's not salvageable. Please don't watch this movie.
The first Troll movie was a fresh take on the mythology - a surprising gem that built slow reveals into interesting character interactions, and gave us just enough action without sacrificing the underlying story. It was a treat, and remains one of the best things Netflix has ever produced, so it's no surprise that they ordered a sequel. However, the sequel lacks all of the character, warmth, and wonder that made the original so delightful. Instead, it hews very closely to the genetic "Netflix formula" that so many of their worst efforts aim for. You get a by-the-numbers government plot that sets up uninteresting motivations, ending in bland action sequences. Even the jokes fall flat this time. The trolls themselves look as good as ever, and there are a few moments where the old sparks shine through, but overall this is a sequel that completely misses the mark. Not recommended.
Nora is more crazy than her father. Just putting her in prison will save both humans and trolls. She is the dumbest person in this movie.
Why would they ever invite her is beyond me. And take her on flights knowing she is nuts.
She is insufferable and I hope they won't go for third part. Or at least change the writers because this is worthless.

I wasn't very impressed, in fact the same as with the first Troll, Sure, the CGI of the creatures looks great and totally works, but to be honest, they look very much like oversized Chewbacca-clones, and apart from the size and the big teeth, they are hardly menacing, but mainly silly with these giant noses and furry beards. The story is paper thin and pretty cliché: the government experimenting in secret on the monster, the stubborn and eccentric professor know-it-all that is flown-in, and then somehow the monster breaks loose, goes rampant and the professor has to come up with some genius scheme to save the world. That this professor herself is totally responsible for the monster to break out, and another scientific lady thwarts the one possibility to nip the troll's escape in the bud, is conveniently overlooked in the rest of the story, as well as the hundreds of casualties that they both cause with their stupid behavior.
The action scenes are fine, like all the chases with helicopters, and the VFX are great. But in between, there are many moments that the pace sags dangerously, the editing could definitely have been more sharp. The dialogues between the main characters aren't razor-sharp either, and the many intended funny lines frequently fall flat. It didn't help that main character Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann) is extremely annoying, all the time behaving cranky and self-righteous and stupid (like standing frozen between the skyscraper-sized legs of two fighting trolls for instance, gazing up at them in almost infatuated rapture!). In short: as an action vehicle and a Godzilla or King Kong clone reasonably entertaining, but nothing more.

- AnecdotesAndreas (Kim Falck) calling his wife's unborn child a "nilbog" is a reference to the film Troll 2 (1990).
- GaffesWhen in Nidarosdomen one character says repeatedly that silver don't rust when they find a sparkling silver item. Where as Silver don't rust, it'll still tarnish and blacken over time. And definitely after 1000 years.
