Reipu zonbi: Lust of the dead 3

This movie is a good example of how to get good entertainment from an idiotic idea and sustain five films that are really medium-length films. The interesting thing is that the premise is held in relation to the basics: showing naked women in grotesque situations. Still it does not suck or scandalize. You can see the effort to put a couple of unexpected surprises. I recommend it? Only for fans of beautiful Japanese willing to do anything.

Who would have thought a movie about horny zombies would spawn four sequels? How in the blue hell does that happen when most great franchises struggle to get to a trilogy.

Once again the army of lustful zombies cause chaos in Japan as they surviving "3D women" barricade themselves away and research a potential cure. Now they have a non-affected man does this mean that there is hope? As you can imagine the concept is wearing thin and though the lore is quite interesting it doesn't seem to be going anywhere and is in fact touching on the biblical (I can confidently say I did not see that coming) Still a tad misandric, not the easiest of viewing but oddly watchable in that embarrassing way this isn't a series to be taken lightly and isn't great but you can do worse if you can stomach it.

Having actually suffered through the fairly horrible 2012 movie "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead" and the even worse 2013 sequel "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 2", I actually don't know why I opted to return to watch this 2013 third movie in the franchise. Perhaps on the notion that writers Yûko Momochi and Naoyuki Tomomatsu might have taken this movie in a whole new direction.

They had not. "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 3" is a continuation of the ludicrous rubbish that started out in the previous two movies. The concept is the same, but by this third movie the material has been milked dry already, and it was quite an ordeal to suffer through the movie, despite the fact that it only ran for 68 minutes.

Granted, when you sit down to watch "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 3", you know you're not in for any award winning storytelling or movie-making. But the concept of exploiting women in various stages of undress has worn thin already in this franchise.

The acting performances in "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 3" were as you would expect. So yeah, you're not in for an evening of Shakespearian theater here. The only performer on the cast list that I was familiar with was Asami. And you know when a performer just have one name to go by, then it is usually a dubious affair. And Asami is by no means a grand actress.

Sure, if you enjoyed the first two movies in this absurd franchise, then you will definitely also enjoy this third movie from director Naoyuki Tomomatsu. I, however, wasn't particularly entertained or impressed with the sheer garbage and sexploitation that "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 3" is.

My rating of "Reipu Zonbi: Lust of the Dead 3" lands on a two out of ten stars.

The only reason I watched this effort was because same guy produced 'Erotibot", yes it was cheaply made but had some imagination. I guess its not easy have new ideas and make them impressive.

Lust of the dead is flick about sex but somehow sex completely missing. Yes, Japan law prohibit showing private parts but its not my problem. Usual battles plenty, old ideas presented as new, chicks ugly etc. Avoid.

If you wanna impress yourself try 'Garden of torment'.

With the country still under attack, the few survivors of the gangs' attempts to propel the zombies forward find their latest efforts to keep them at bay interrupted by the arrival of another force in the war between the two sides and must sort out their alliances.

This was an exceptionally fun and enjoyable effort in the series. Much like the previous efforts in the series, this one is based around the idea of reveling in and exploiting rather sleazy and depraved themes with great ease. This means a far greater expanse of time on forcing softcore rubbing and fondling with each other in close-up detail, which comes off far more erotic than expected considering the situation in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, while the community showers, topless beatdowns and self-love sequences add in far more nude scenes here for this one to focus on. There's still the rape issue as there's plenty of that within this one as the hordes approach and attack with a slightly greater frequency here, from teasing the one victim who turns and immediately begins pawing at her in ravenous intensity, the appearances at the rally as well as the hospital and all building up to the main finale which is filled with the great zombie swarming action to be expected in here. The creatures emerge and take out the various barricades causing them to ravage the group as the horde begins engaging in their usual antics causing all sorts of fun mini- encounters to break out through the facility and bringing about a truly sleazy finale with all the different sessions being indulged in here for as long as it goes on which borders on the hardcore pornographic such is the intensity and frequency of these actions. Again with all the great gore and nudity being provided here, there's a lot to like alongside the few problems displayed. One of the few problems with this one is the fact that there's really no need for it to go as far as it does recapping the previous entries in the series which take up so much time here not only detailing the history of the outbreak but also the actual events here by lifting the scenes straight from the previous films in order to pad out the running time for a film that doesn't need it being as short as it is already. It's still rather tough to get into the concept of the storyline as the misogynistic story doesn't really make for the easiest effort to get into because of the extreme subject matter being seen in this light. The only other issue for this one is the film's rather quizzical inclusion of the idol singer and her inane song that's played during the rally meeting, which just drags the film down in terms of pacing even further here with all the other tempo-based issues to be had with the recap and stock footage of the others taking place within here.
