This cartoon is inferior in every way to earth's mightiest heroes. The voice acting, the dialogue, the plot and even the character designs are horrible compared to EMH. Black widow looks terrible compared to the EMH version. I remember looking forward to each episode, because the characters were different from each other. They had personality. Here, they all seem to talk and act the same. What was the point of getting rid of such a good EMH team? They should have just continued with EMH, instead we get this crappy movie continuation instead of the excellent comic book stories of EMH (yes I know they were modified but it was amazing). I don't mind the movie. They had to do stuff in a 2 hour window but the cartoons can hold true to the amazing marvel legacy from the comics. No need to dumb it down to the movie level. I was so looking forward to this after EMH and it was an utter disappointment.
I really liked this series.
It airs on Disney XD but it's a show that's for kids and adults.
The joys of an animated series are that you can do anything. No having to worry about actors, story lines that can't be converted to movies or characters that are owned by other studios.
There are appearances by The Thing, Spider-Man, and Doctor Doom just to name a few. Having this series also gives us the chance to see more of The Avengers personalities, individually and as part of the team.
I also really liked the addition of Falcon to The Avengers team as somewhat of the trainee Avenger in the beginning but definitely proves himself as the series goes on.
There is an overall season arc with the Avengers versus Red Skull and other villains but there are some standalone episode stories too.
This is an awesome show; one that I could watch again and I will be watching Season 2.

Every episode features the exact same cast, doing the exact same thing, saying and acting all the same, fighting another villain of the week whose only real power is strength.
Were eight episodes in and its all been fight after fight with someone super strong. Yes, they throw in slight variations like heat vision, alien army, molecule changing (whatever that was). But at the end of it, its just another stupid fight with another stupid strong guy.
Where is the charm and wit that EMH had? Where is the villain whose power was his brain and not his brawn? Stop the endless destruction of the city as it gets very boring since there are no consequences for their actions. They destroy buildings and cars killing thousands with no consequence or remorse. Whats the point of stopping a bad guy if the heroes do more damage than they do?
There is zero plot. A villain just turns up and they fight him. One can forgive all the other problems if they just gave the audience a reason to care about the characters or the reason for why they are fighting. Connecting with the audience is storytelling 101.
They switch between screen ratios constantly during the fight. Its so annoying. Stop changing widescreen formats constantly during the same episode - it looks stupid and is very distracting.
Ill continue to watch as an Avengers fan, but please give us a story and a reason for me to want to watch.

EMH was such an excellent series that could have gone on for a long time. They were setting up things like Guardians of the Galaxy, which I had never really heard of before and I am sure a lot of others had not heard of either. This is just continuing the movie. The movie does not really not need a follow up because of the MCU and MAOS that are continuing the stories in the movies and bringing it to TV. It seems that this is just a ploy to commercialize the franchise more and sell toys. I do not plan on following this series the same way I did with EMH. Disney XD is overall doing a poor job with their Marvel properties. Spider-man is alright but is also very much for kids. I agree with another review that I read that the voice acting and designs are terrible. This is more like the Super Friends than anything else.
I enjoyed watching the first 3 seasons up until 4 and 5 they just felt repetitive and made to continue the series to make more money. I was also annoyed by the switch of art design in the final season it went from looking like a animated show to a off brand YouTube video about it. Overall I enjoyed my experience watching Avengers Assemble.
