Haha everyone is up in arms about this episode and i think its great. This show has been off the rails for a long time and they finally put it in high gear and got it moving.
Some characters are awful to listen to, but now that head hauncho gone the show can finish out strong with lots of revenge and visits to the train station. I have now joined the ranks of every veiwer in the world and want to see beth taking up residency at the train station. Monica is still bottom of the barrel but doesnt deserve a train ticke. Pretty much everyone else (even jamie a little) has done a good job carrying this show through this first episode. Dont listen to the cell phone film critics that like to complain. This was pretty good.

There are many characters on this show, but only a few matter. I do like the ranch hands. They provide a great deal of color and humanity. Only John Dutton, Beth, Rip, Gil Birmingham's character, and Tate matter. Jamie is weak and irrelevant. So is Kayce, who has never found himself. The heart has been cut out of the show. It will never be the same and is not meant to. Kevin left time to finish the show, but there was no script. He also thought the show was losing it's way. He was right, but he was told to stick to acting. This is a really disgraceful way to end an iconic character and show. It reminds me of the disastrous end of 'Game of Thrones'. I don't feel the same about it
I watch many of Sheridan's shows: 1883, my favorite, 1923, which, in my opinion, has yet to start, Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown I'll watch Landman and Madison.
I know I'll live long enough to see the end of Yellowstone, but with the incredibly slow pace of making shows today, that is probably the only one. My time is running out.

First, they committed what, for me, is the cardinal sin. The beginning of the episode revealed a later event in the episode, and then we got one of those "some hours, days, months or years earlier" things before the show started. This technique has become so overused that I just want to scream when I see it happening.
As for the episode, it was pretty weak. I hope the rest of the series will be better, because I hate to see such a quality show go out with a whimper. Maybe if they hadn't tried to spin Yellowstone off into several other shows the team wouldn't have been too burned out to produce a dignified end to the show that started it all.

Way to drop the ball. This was like a low grade series that writers used a bunch of scenery, landscape shots and cowboy ranch scenes just to fill the time slot.
The acting was off and so was the overall vibe of the show we have become accustomed to. Even Beth's acting disappoints. Like the end. Seriously what was that.
It was a waste of an hour. Did the writers change or something. Like I know that had to deal with a writers string but that sure took their time coming back with the conclusion of season 5. If this is what is to be expected for the rest of the show I'm checking out. So disappointing. It truly sucked.
