Good story that could have been executed

It is a very beautiful anime with a thoughtful plot. But that thought could have been better executed.

The cinematography is gorgeous and the character development is nicely written. Just some plot lines seemed a bit incomplete at the end and maybe a season 2 would have been good to explain the same.

Anyway while watching the series you won't regret the time that you gave. It is also a sweet treat when we see different art forms and the reference to environment as a whole.

Mediocre

It was an alright show. I liked the storyline and Nezumi and Shion's relationship development. The animation was great as well. However, the story seemed very rushed. It seemed to serve as promotion for the manga more than anything else. I watched it in one sitting, so it has an addictive element. I give it an 8/10.

The Most Beautiful Shounen-Ai Anime of all time.

No. 6 is the most mature, beautiful shounen-ai anime I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them. It's animation and storyline is unmatched by any other anime of its kind (or Yaoi anime for that matter). On top of that, it's characters are beautifully developed and easy to fall in love with. I was absolutely hooked after the first episode, and ended up watching every other episode in a row (that's about 4 and a half hours worth of episodes). I guess I just loved everything about No. 6. The theme songs that played in the opening and ending credits, the hilarity, the romance, the music... it just thrilled me. You'd be hard-pressed to find another yaoi/shounen-ai anime that's of a better quality than this. I think it's the best anime of its kind, the cream of the crop. Put it this way. As I was nearing the end of the series, I started to feel anxiety because I'd never see a new episode again. Now that's what I call a powerful show!

The story takes place in the "ideal" and perfect city known as "No.6." Shion, a boy raised in the elite and privileged environment of his home, gives shelter to another boy, who only gives his name as Nezumi ("Rat"). We soon learn that all is not what it seems in No.6, with mysterious deaths and horrendous pasts being revealed along the way. As years pass, Shion and Rat reunite to survive during perilous times. Their beautiful relationship sets the tone and raises the stakes for the rest of the show. It's a thrilling and captivating masterpiece of animation.

It's romantic, without being overly cheesy. I love how the characters built their romance on friendship. It was really nice to see characters like each other as people, as well as love each other deeply. It's thrilling, but not overly complicated. An evil 'ruler' controls a city, whilst rebels fight to tear down the system. It's original in the way it combines futuristic sci-fi with gay- romance and stunning animation. Put it this way, have you ever seen an action sci-fi film where the two male leads are in love with each other? Didn't think so. I guess what I'm trying to say is: it was perfect for me.

As for my favorites: My favorite character was definitely dog-girl. I loved how defiant, stubborn, and proud she was at the start. What's more, I loved the way her character's guard gradually fell down around Shion, showing a softer side. It's always good to love the main characters, but loving the minor characters makes the show that much better. My favorite episode was definitely episode one: when Shion met Rat as a child and helped him. That whole sequence was so beautiful, I had to fight back tears before I even knew what the show was about. My favorite moment: when Shion and Rat were talking on the bed when they were 12 years old. It was so heartwarming to see!

The theme songs touched my soul, and the relationship between Shion and Rat touched my heart. It was a really effective combination I must say! Not to mention, the beautiful sci-fi animation really makes No.6 shine above others. As a whole, I grew really emotionally attached to everything in the show. I'm just super depressed that it's over now to be perfectly honest. I can't wait until enough time has passed so that I can watch it again. That way, I can relive the magic that it brought to me on the first viewing. If you're a fan of LGBT/Yaoi/Shonen-Ai movies or shows in general, then look no further than No.6. It's a masterpiece of its own kind.

Only one word could describe this show... AMAZING.

It was all just absolutely gorgeous. I think that the story was so well balanced and unlike other shows the whole thing just progressed so beautifully and smoothly.

I loved the way how the relationship between Sion and Rat, didn't rush in any way like they do in most shows. And the romance in it, is so much different than the lovey-dovey crap we see so much these days; as it all took it's time and gave us the chance to actually get to know the characters and their personalities.

I finished this anime two days ago and it was powerful enough for me to shed tears, because of the way it captivates the viewer with it's complete and utter beauty. It's absolutely a must see kind of anime; I highly recommend it.

Fantastic

This anime is great. Go watch it.

It has wonderful animation, an interesting setting, well-developed characters, an intricate plot, and a compelling romance. Yes, the ending is a bit unsatisfying, but everything up until then is so good that its well worth the watch.

No.6 review

I loved this show. I binged watched the show. It was fantastic. I love every second of it. The two main character had the best chemistry and there romance was great. This show was differnce from anything I ever have seen. I loved the setting and the plot of the story. There was a lot of character development even know the story was pretty short. It pack a lot into each episode and got me emotion. I loved the moment when he kissed the other dude and when he thought the other dude was gonna died so he decided to sing to him instead of leaving and saving himself. I love part of these moments. I saw like when the gray hair dude took then baby that was found back to rise it with his mom. That part was good too. The class system thing reminded me of things I have saw in other show but it was a bit differnce. I recommend this show to everyone as long as you don't have a problem with two men kissing or LGBT.

The best of it's kind

Without spoiling any major plot details, I can say that all character and relationship development appears natural and un-forced. Despite still somewhat falling short of the novel in some areas, the anime more than makes up for it with brilliant music and hidden symbolism in the artwork. Unlike so many of it's peers, No. 6 requires no "buying in" to the story, yet still manages to create a fantasic world with many interesting facets.

Any critism I might have concerns only anime-specific design choices in the last episode that don't holistically take away from the story at all.

I would invite anyone to watch the first episode, then pick up the novel (or any of the free translations of the novel available online) and read away.

Pure junk

This film started as a great movie and ended as a mockery of the audience. The script is full of cliches and logical holes. Each storyline turns into a dead end, and instead of a clear explanation of the reasons and motives, we see only meaningful hints of a certain "mystery", as in a cheap provincial circus. There are no words, only disappointment remains. I would give this film high scores for the work of animators, but the writer spoiled everything. They knew who was on the team. I am not surprised that the series was not continued for the second season. The worst movie I've seen in the last year.
