Actress couldn't carry episode

I love this show and I am constantly impressed by the comedic talent they have every show, but this was not the case with this episode. Kate, playing "Kate" was so distracting with her attempt to be a funny character (not to mention her attempt to play a college aged female) I could not pay attention to anyone else. Apparently naming the character the same name as the actress did nothing to make her more realistic. I don't mean to be negative, I'm sure she is a fine actress in drama, but there are so many talented and attractive comedic actresses that could have done this role justice and made the episode enjoyable.

On another note, Lassiter's Blair Witch parody was hysterical.

Gaffes
When Shawn finds the old army photo of Big Ed, he's wearing his army uniform and has a goatee. Goatees are not allowed in the army, even for Rangers and no beards are allowed wearing dress uniforms.
