Robocop rogue city is excellent

Robocop rogue city is a great shooter game I'm really enjoying it. I am a fan Of the robocop films I was 4 years old when the first one came out The developers teyon Did this game Justice literally The same like they did with terminator and Rambo I really enjoyed those games. Hopefully, they remake Rambo and hopefully do a judge dredd or timecop game, If you are a fan of 80s and 90s films like robocop you're enjoying this game Because they stick to the source material. Its rare these days, because publishers always wanna change things. But this game faithful they even got Peter wellers reprising his role and I didn't get that for a dollar! I got this game for 26 pounds on pc from cdkeys this is a great shooter with all the blood and gut body parts flying everywhere interacting with the npc solving crimes and playing though and good story I recommend this game.

Wow! I would buy that for..anything!..

Really fun and great!

Much better! Than I expected..

I had already played Terminator: Resistance from the same company and I liked it very much..In fact, me and many people consider it the best Terminator game ever..so far at least.

I expected Robocop Rogue City to be at about the same level..but I was pleasantly surprised!.. It is even greater! And shows the steady upward path this Studio is going..from Rambo (which I haven't played but read was mediocre..) to the great Terminator Resistance to the magnificent! RoboCop Rogue City!..

The game is a lot of fun..fully loyal to the movies..and situated between RoboCop 2 and 3.. The graphics are really impressive! At some points, with only some faces or explosion effects looking a bit simple.. Unreal Engine 5..is in use.

In many places you think you are watching a new Robocop movie..

The music is directly from the official soundtrack of the 1st movie by the Great Basil Poledouris.

I would just like it to be used more often in the game.. since it creates an Epic! Atmosphere.. I would also like it if the great Auto-9 gun used the original sound effects from the movies.. Robocop's voice is Peter Weller's!

The story is simple but ok..with many original characters from the movies used. Your actions and decisions at some points affect the game and how the characters treat you.. There is also the characteristic humour..of the movies throught the game

The fights are great, there is a lot of action and many weapons to use apart from the original Auto-9 which can take many improvements with chips.

The bosses and enemies are all here..from both RoboCop 1 and 2.

Apart from some glitches and few crashes on PS5, which I hope will all be fixed by patches, this game is definitely Recommended!

And a MUST buy for all RoboCop and sci-fi/cyberpunk fans..

Dead or Alive you're coming with me!

It's a journey you are obligated to take if you were ever a fan of RoboCop, and it's an escape into the world of old Detroit once more. It could also be an escape into a newly formed Delta City, depending on who you are voting for. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg. See the city through the eyes of RoboCop and become the main character of the films you loved or grew up watching. Returning to voice one of our favorite protagonists from the eighties is Peter Weller as the part-man, part-machine serving the public trust! "He's a cyborg, you idiot!"-yes, a cyborg with a lot of heart and emotional trauma. Yet this time, you'll be in control of those emotions. You will decide who to empathize with, who you believe is telling the truth, and who should serve time and face true justice. This is a homage to the first few films and pays tribute by including lots of Easter eggs from both the first and second films.

Developed by Teyon and published by Nacon, this first-person shooter is the most intimate experience as RoboCop so far. Creating a new, original storyline based on the films, you must clean up the streets of Detroit and rid the city of crime and corruption. The story continues from where RoboCop 2 left off, with traces of Nuke still present. The atmospheric level designs are so reminiscent of the films that it's incredible what they produced using Unreal Engine. The nostalgia that brought so many to the dance in the first place will reign supreme.

RoboCop: Rogue City introduces a variety of new characters while still maintaining familiarity with some of the original ones. Anne Lewis returns, of course, alongside a few other favorites such as Sergeant Warren Reed, reporter Casey Wong, and OCP's top dog and CEO, known as "The Old Man."

So, why should you invest some time into this game, and what do I love about it? First of all, it captures the essence of what made RoboCop such a great film in the first place. The depiction of the run-down, dystopian-like old Detroit juxtaposes with the future of Delta City in the works. Still, Delta City never seems to arrive-it's like an illusion, a smoke-and-mirrors act, a false promise of what could be. Paul Verhoeven's original has been difficult to emulate since, with the sequels never quite living up to what true RoboCop fans know as canon. However, this game closely resembles parts of both the Weller films; it is worthy of being called RoboCop 3 more so than the actual RoboCop 3. Often, as sequels progress, they never quite live up to the first, but now, more than ever, I, as an avid RoboCop fan, wanted to relive some of that magic. The 2014 RoboCop was a million light-years away from what I wanted to see-even going as far as to say I'd happily watch RoboCop 3 instead. Now though, thanks to the world of gaming, we are able to relive RoboCop in a fresh way like never before.

The story of this game will evolve depending on your decisions and the choices you make throughout the game. In this version, it isn't guaranteed that you'll have the same ending as me, but it is likely you'll have a hell of a ride.

A flawed but fun game.

Despite the 15+ hours of fun I had, there are clear and obvious flaws with Robocop Rogue City, But from the previous work of this games development studio they've improved leaps and bounds.

I'll try and keep my review as short and concise as possible explaining everything you need to know if you're planning on getting the game, or if you want to know what someone who's beat the entire game feels about Robocop Rogue City. Let's start with story.

Story: 8/10. This is the games strong point. As someone who was born in the early 90's right in between Robocop 2 and 3, I can say I was brought up on Alex Murphy and his tin can. I remember watching at a much younger age than I should have been, but being truly amazed at such a unique and often startling world of Robocops Detroit. Rogue city takes place right in that sweet spot between movies and has all the usual cast of characters who play their part excellently. I especially enjoyed seeing Anne Lewis again in all her bubble popping glory. The main actors do a great job and Peter Weller even reprises his role as Alex Murphy which sounds great in game. I won't spoil any story points but I will say it does a really good job at keeping you immersed in its plot and egging Robocop on to get the bad guy.

Visuals: 5/10. Not great. A weird mashup of modern techniques like raytracing clash with what seems like ancient character models and outdated mechanics, which make a sometimes graphically off putting game. The game starts with an awful cutscene where one particular characters hair was waving about like he was free falling from an airplane, despite being inside a building. Not a good start at all. The worst thing without doubt is the characters mouth movement. It just looks like they should be speaking in a PS3/Xbox 360 game from nearly 20 years ago. The downtown city itself is decent looking especially at night with raytraced reflections in things like pools of water on the ground, but the overall look of the game during the day isn't as good. Cutscenes as mentioned can be jarring and off putting so if you're buying this to test the limits of what your PS5/Series X can do, then this really isn't the game for you.

Performance: 7/10. Solid enough. Weirdly on PS5 the game starts in fidelity/Quality mode, which is by far the worst mode. It feels slow and impacts gameplay because shooting and moving in 30FPS just isn't it in 2024. The performance mode however does a good enough job to try and maintain 60FPS. There are drops in the framerate for sure, especially in certain areas/sections but for the most part it's passable with no major issues.

Gameplay: 8/10. Really fun, slightly repetitive. Shooting is awesome, it feels fluid and responsive, you have a decent amount of guns to swap between, I especially like the mounted guns you can rip from their mount and blast fools away like you're Arnie. There is dashes, flashes and a few more abilities you have your disposal, but by far the best is the slow mo. It's not Max Payne good but come on, who doesn't love a bit of slo mo shooting in your games, it's just plain fun. The movement is limited as you would expect playing as Robocop but they make it just agile enough to where it doesn't feel too sluggish. The ability to put chips on your main gun is something that adds a little mini game which can be a nice distraction now and then. Skill points are gained each time you level up and are a very basic but welcome addition. Later on in the game the gunplay does feel slightly repetitive but picking up items like PC's, gas canisters and TV's to throw at your enemies mix it up enough. Still very enjoyable for the most part.

Overall: a mixed bag of a game with solid gameplay and entertaining storyline that is slightly let down by some questionable and outdated graphics, mediocre performance and can be limited in enjoyment depending if you're a Robocop fan or not. Far from perfect but a charming game that does just enough to keep you entertained throughout. 7/10.

Justice Never Sleep

The gameplay is so fun, walking around like a tank and destroying enemies with the most powerful handgun in existent. But I would recommend playing it on normal, because you get the power fantasy of being robocrop, when you are playing on the higher difficulties it loses it.

The mini open world sequence just feel so good to play. Being the robo man and solving crime and talking to the people that are down on their luck. It is so fun and feels like a part of the movie that we never got to experience.

They hit the comedic tone of robocop so perfect. It's so hard not to have a grin on my face, when the robot man is saying something corny to the civilians and giving them a ticket. The story feels like a sequel to the first one with the RoboCop mind and how he processes the trauma. Is told sincere, so it still touching.

The sound effects are so good the headshot sounds so goddamn satisfying and the heroic music they use from the movie gives me goosebumps. It just feels so good.

All The Small Things That Make You Feel Like RoboCop. Like the big steps sound. Being taller than everybody else. And the clunky movement and no jump button, I really enjoy how it makes you feel like a RoboCop.

An amazingly charming game that is maybe a bit too long but what can I say. It is a fun experience.

The 3rd R rated movie we have all been waiting for!

OMFG!!! I don't even know where to begin.. this game was an absolute blast from start to finish!! Whoever made this.. BRAVO. This was such a service to the fans.. everything about it. The fact Peter Weller voices him, the fact that the levels were ripped straight from scenes from the first 2 movies, the fact they added several RPG elements to my surprise and delight, and the fact that the gore is absolutely visceral. Man... that ending. I got chills.. literal chills. Anyone who is a fan of the first 2 movies NEEDS this game in their life. Sure, it has minor bugs, but they affect nothing. It is well written, even referencing the first 2 movies here and there. The villian is perfect 80's cheese, and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. PLEASE, PLEEEEEASE MAKE A SEQUEL!!

My only gripe is the lack of a new game + mode.. it would be so much fun to go through again with all the moves and such that I earned the first time around.

Incredibly easy to recommend to a fan of the movies.

If you're a fan of the RoboCop character, then I haven't any issues recommending this game to you. It's isn't a fully fledged AAA and in some areas you are able to see that but for the budget of the game and the price it costs you more than get your money's worth. Peter Weller does a fantastic job yet again playing the character and it was a surprise to have him in this game, it goes to share the care and attention from the developers to ask the original actor to be in the game.

The gameplay is also a lot of fun, maybe a little too easy, which I can see being an issue to some people, but in a game where you play as RoboCop I think it's just natural to feel overpowered for a lot of the game. His movements are perfect and gun fights are a lot of fun. Also fun are all the smaller side quests you're able to do when you're in the little sandbox areas. It adds a lot to the world of the game and some of the side missions really had me surprised just by how much effort was put into side content. Without giving away too much or anything, the ending is also really great and feels like something out of a movie. If you catch this game, play it.

Bit rough around the edges but solid fun

Some so-so voice acting here and there, along with some pretty rough character models and animation drags it down. I played this right after a replay of the Last of us 2 so the quality difference between a AAA game is noticeable.

The gameplay is solid but could be more varied, you basically tank through the levels gunning down wave after wave of carbon copy bad guys who just stand there and shoot at you, then you must hide to repair yourself which is awesome but feels a bit monotonous.

That said I haven't finished it. Worth your time especially for Robocop fans but wait for the sales for this one.

Just great

RoboCop Rogue City is an outstanding game that takes place between the second and third movie. Visually, the game is stunning; the rainy and gritty Detroit with its skyscrapers feels like watching a RoboCop movie. The abundance of references to the films, such as SUX 6000, TJ Lazer, and Nuke, is a must to maintain authenticity, and Teyon has succeeded in this aspect. The inclusion of the original and authentic Peter Weller as RoboCop's voice is a highlight, although at times, Weller seems a bit disengaged. This is likely an unfair assessment, given Weller's consistent support for RoboCop throughout the years. Having played the game for about 4 hours, this is my only minor criticism, as Weller has always been a dedicated advocate for RoboCop. Nevertheless, in the game, his voice occasionally sounds somewhat distant. Despite this, it's a minor drawback. Teyon, the developer behind the game, is perhaps most famous for their work on Rambo: The Video Game. That game, however, had its shortcomings in characters, dialogue, and sound. Notably, the player didn't even control Rambo directly, only aiming. Without delving further into criticism, it's crucial to mention it because their subsequent game, Terminator: Resistance, was a significant improvement. The game's visuals and gameplay were excellent, marking a substantial step in the right direction. Set in a post-nuclear world dominated by machines, the game's music felt straight out of the 80s with synthesizers. The missions were intriguing, and the desolate world set the perfect tone, with the final battle accompanied by the Terminator theme being a standout moment. This game gave hope that perhaps Teyon's mission is to create games specifically tailored for fans. RoboCop Rogue City is an excellent game and a further significant step forward. I, for one, can't wait for Teyon's next game, whatever it may be - whether Judge Dredd, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, or something else. Regardless, the confidence is high, and the bar has been set. Rogue City is also incredibly brutal and bloody, reminiscent of the first movie. Limbs and blood fly as RoboCop uses his Auto-9 weapon (or any other weapon he can find). Excellent job, Teyon!

PS5 unplayable

This game had so much potential and not only did it fall short as soon as you get the sniper rifle the aiming and scrolling are so off the game is unplayable.

The story is good and plays well into the robocop universe.

Playing as Murphy and the aiming interface is pretty cool. Lots of gems for Robocop fans.

Open world it is not, but still some exploration.

All of which counts for nothing when the game reaches a point its unplayable.

Fortunately I got this on a Black Friday sake of around $30 nzd instead of $100+ nzd, so paid 1/3 of the price and was able to play <1/3 of the game.

If you have a PS5, DO NOT BUY THIS!

RoboCop: Rogue City

RoboCop: Rogue City is an amazing movie licensed game. It makes you feel like Robocop, you're slow like a tank, and you feel heavy compared to other FPS games like Call Of Duty. And the whole world and such feels true to the movies (from what i vaguely remember. I haven't seen the movies in years) The only negative thing i have to say is, that i don't think the story is as interesting as just playing the game (it's just how i've always been with most games, i don't even think the story is awful by any means of course. I just get a bit bored of watching the cutscenes because i have both Autism and ADHD) But the game in itself is not bad or boring at all, it's a pretty fun game that shows love and care to the source material. And the best part of the game is that Peter Weller is returning as Robocop instead of ''just'' a impressionist or a whole other voice.

A most solid AA game

When Robocop - Rogue City was first announced, I wasn't excited. In fact, I was pretty skeptical. I presumed it would be just another mediocre title, failing to capture the magic of its source material. How wrong I was! This game turned out to be an unexpected gem, evoking a wave of nostalgia that reminded me of the glory days of gaming around 2004/2005-specifically, games like Vampire the Masquerade, which I adored back then.

As soon as I jumped in, it became clear that this game is an action title at its core, and it's where it really shines. There's something utterly exhilarating about roaming the gritty streets of this semi-open world, engaging in combat with Splatter-punks, bikers, OCP soldiers, and rogue robots. The action is mostly linear, yet diverse. Yes, the main campaign is straightforward, but there's plenty of side content that invites exploration and decision-making. I was delighted to discover that my choices had real consequences in the world, enhancing the immersion and making me feel like my actions held weight.

The gunplay? Incredible. There's just something satisfying about the sound of the firearms, especially knowing that my pistol comes with unlimited ammo! This surprising mechanic adds a level of carefree fun that I didn't expect, although I found myself dying more than I'd like to admit, proving that even unlimited bullets can't save you from poor decisions or sneaky enemies.

Interacting with NPCs and taking on various missions is where the game truly delivers a classic RPG feel. You can go from shooting bad guys to solving petty disputes, and each interaction feels meaningful. The dialogue trees provide an opportunity to shape your story-again, a lovely nod to titles like Vampire the Masquerade and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, both of which have left marks on my gaming heart.

Visually, the game runs smoothly at 60 frames per second, and while it boasts a 4K image, I have to be honest-the character models feel somewhat stiff and lifeless. In some respects, it feels like a product of yesteryear, reminiscent of a 2007 release. But somehow, I found I could overlook these shortcomings. The compelling gameplay and engaging story kept me glued to my screen.

Speaking of story, Robocop - Rogue City presents a narrative that feels true to the Robocop universe. The corporate machinations and moral ambiguity resonate deeply, and though there aren't many surprising plot twists, the storytelling serves its purpose well. And on a nostalgic note, I was thrilled to hear Peter Weller reprising his role as Robocop. His voice acting is on point, enriching the experience with gravitas. Don't get me started on the music-the iconic Robocop theme enhances the ambiance and evokes memories of the classic films.

However, it's not all roses. I found Robocop's movements a tad sluggish, which occasionally made traversing the environment and hunting down hidden quests tedious. I missed a fair number of side quests simply because they were challenging to locate. I clocked around 22 hours of playtime, but I know I could have squeezed even more out of it with proper navigation.

In conclusion, Robocop - Rogue City transformed my initial skepticism into genuine enthusiasm. It rekindled my love for AA single-player titles in a big way, sparking a desire to delve into more games of this ilk. I'm already looking forward to exploring more stories just like this one.

A solid 8/10. This game isn't perfect, but it captured my heart and will certainly stay with me longer than I ever expected. If you're a fan of action RPGs and have an appreciation for classic sci-fi, you owe it to yourself to give this one a try!

Great RoboCop game

Greetings from Lithuania.

"RoboCop: Rogue City" (2023) is a video game based on a RoboCop hero. It follows after the events of first two films - in case you haven't liked or seen "RoboCop 3" (1993) this video game might serve you as a good end of a trilogy, because it's really good one. Story is good here. Characters, all voiced by original actors are just as they were in movies. Gameplay itself is pretty straightforward. If you enjoyed this companies previous game Terminator: Resistance, with RoboCop they improved a lot. It has skill system, dialog options, great environment to mess with and plenty of enemies to shoot at. It looks great, it sound great and it's simply a great game.

Looks like a PS3 game at PS5 Prices

I don't know what the Dev back story is on this game. Was it developed for the 360 and PS3 and legal problems ensued holding up its release? Were they adamant about using Peter Weller and his prior commitments held him up till the 2020s? I have no clue but I know this game should never have been released for anything higher than $20 bucks. I enjoyed the shooting the crap out of thugs parts but grabbing biker punks off of their bikes and flinging them into another biker is a gas. Even more glorious is punching some blue-haired, Faux punk rocker with your metal paw in his snarling face and watch it become an explosion, then a flying, puddle of crimson. I have no love for the modern punk rocker they're jokes like Green Day. Green Day is to Punk Rock like The Bay City Rollers were Rock 'n' Roll. You kiddies can Google them. Besides fighting punks you fight Robots and some BIG ROBOTS. Ontop of that you get to investigate kind like using your Bat-Vision...or kind of like it and you analyze PCs and Work computers and it can be fun but it's done with graphics that could've been done on smart-phones 5 yrs ago. You can't just walk in a building like on PS4s + PS5s it has to cut seemingly to load the next section which modern systems do seamlessly and to top it all off they charge the same as any A title. Wait till it's on your PSPlus or Game Pass then you won't be disappointed unless you're a Graphics snob. Then you just have the sweet, cheesy dialogue of Murphy's partner Officer Lewis (Nancy Allen in the original film) who looks at Murphy's Helmut + Dark Visor and says, "Oh No, I know that look!" I don't know if that was meant to be funny or an unintentional guffaw but it's there. Enjoy.

True sequel.

Really a true sequel. Yeah some bugs. Specially the character designs felt like a very last gen although the level designs were the next gen .

This game was gritty, gory and made ya felt like RoboCop however I didn't like that you could only explore one part of Detrot could brought more but so, so it was all about the story telling and some of choices effect it.

The makers really worked hard within the shooting controls and styles of combat from shooting thugs, from throwing them or throwing objects at them, punching or to go back to the gun firing blow off their limes or face off but the recation to see them was in pain as shot them in their jewls. This game had 80's action film style added into a video game your just going buy this if you love shooters or fan of the films one of the best action games of 2023, I'll buy that for a dollar! P.s maybe in 10 years time or 20 hopefully less they could make this into a real web series or netflix film or something you would buy that for a dollar!

RoboSlop

Honestly this game is not worth it and here's why because the is not at all fast paste when it's meant to be i know it's RoboCop and he's a robot and all but the game just feels really slow to play it's not enjoyable and it's stupid that you get very little ammo in your primary weapon making it worthless to use and the boss fight with the giant robot whatever it's name is I was just running around in circles most of the time and throwing explosives at it and trying to kill this thing with guns was just worthless even on easy difficulty it was a pain and mind you i found this game to be a snooze fest at times because of it's slow pasteness. But to look on the positive side this game is only fun when fighting humans like throwing them and bartleing and seeing the graphic gore that's the only enjoyment i had out of this game. And the story just goes as expected just like the movie i guess I mean it is RoboCop the game after all.

A great love letter to a brilliant classic

First and foremost: this game is for die-hard fans of Robocop, and in this respect, it delivers.

As it is intended to fit between Robocop 1 and Robocop 2, the influence of Veroheven's classic looms large.

The focus is on the environment richness - the city of Detroit, OCP, the uniforms, ED-209, everything that marks Robocop's world is there. With high fidelity in terms of modeling, in terms of textures, in terms of mood.

The game throws you head first into Detroit, and it just feels right.

For a game injected into a set world (three movies did a lot to muck around with the canon/universe and locked a hard line to follow), the story fits and retains the tone of the original film. What it does lack is outlandish wackiness of the television ads.

But playing Robocop feels right; you walk around as sluggish as the thing would be, and the constant banter between Peter Weller and other actors oozes a good time.

There are lots of visual touches throughout the game (posters, signs, etc) that bring a very real and rich environment to life.

For the rest of the technical aspects, Death Stranding this is not. But it is not priced at AAA level, quite intelligently, since that's not the focus.

It is for hardcore cinephiles before hardcore gamers, and all the better for it.
