I haven't written any reviews for quite sometime now on IMDb, but seeing Save Me's rating, I thought I should contribute something. I just finished watching the first and second episodes of Save Me, and I feel it was a perfect fit.
Over the years we have seen comedy shows trying to be different and stand out, but sadly, most of them failed. I am not saying Save Me won't face the same verdict, but from what I've seen so far, it is a good TV.
Anne Heche played this neurotic yet bubbly housewife character, who think she can talks to God, or can she? And accompanying her is the always dashing, Michael Landes who stars as her husband. Let's hope this one stays!

First of all, I have to say I've never been a fan of Anne Heche.. but ya know what... I just love her in this. Her comedic timing in this is amazing. Story lines are hilarious, touching and all around good fun. Anne is adorable in this show. The whole concept is as close to 'novel' that Hollywood puts out as one can hope for. It's 'Touched by an Angel', 'Saving Grace' wrapped up in a ticklish taco (I know, really bad metaphor, but I'm kind of hungry right now). Few shows make me laugh out loud, and I love to laugh out loud.
Don't deprive yourself of watching this program, 'swear to God' you won't regret it.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. Nice lighthearted look at a spiritual awakening. Paul was thrown from a horse so this isn't so far fetched. Looking forward to more episodes. In this day and age half hour shows seem like a tease but probably works best for this type of show. Short and sweet message, no need to drag out a plot line. Acting was very good for a spiritual show. Reminds me of the show a few years ago where the lawyer was having visions. Only this one is simpler, so far, to follow. The church music scene was a little over the top but the priest/pastor was played nicely. The music certainly adds to the show just had a problem with her just jumping in and knowing the words when she said she had never been in a church before. Also music didn't fit with the type of church that would have a priest/pastor wearing the normal denominational gown outfit. Writers have to decide on what kind of church this is going to be.
I've watched 3 episodes and am a fan. I was skeptical at first but this is a well written, smart, funny show. It reminds me very much of Scrubs from a few years back. The characters are very representative of our post-modern, secular culture. Woven through the irreverent dialog are some very good moral, ethical messages. Anne Heche as the main character Beth who has found God following a traumatic event is comically representative of the modern new believer. Theologically and doctrinally naive she is unabashed in her belief unlike the only other professed believer in the cast who largely sublimates her beliefs in the face of her skeptical peers unbelief. Save Me is a bold entry in the sitcom landscape that has seemed to venerate themes that in prior years would have been considered socially unacceptable. ironically, talking about God in media has become counter cultural. save Me is making it cool again. Give it a shot. You just might be pleasantly surprised.
Anne Heche gives a very likable and -if you think she's crazy- a very believable performance.
And if you don't think that she's crazy and actually God is talking to her -"What do I call you? Dog. That's God backwards, because that's how you're treating me/behaving"- she's even funnier in her earnestness.
The rest of the cast is also very good, in all of their befuddlement and indecision. Is she crazy? Isn't she? Well, at least she's acting like an adult.
Too bad that the God premise doomed this show from the start, the religious element would not/can not/will not let a show that's slightly irreverent succeed. This show could have been a very good and smartly done one. One without the car chases, the forced drama and the gratuitous sex angles.
