I assume you might be on the right track when it comes to guessing where this is going - so that's why wrote hot ... no pun intended obviously. Secrets and finding out about ones family - however bleak and quite ... well dark (cold?) the story and history may be ... family! You might love them, but it is a struggle to keep in touch and to deal with the past too - something this movie does ... in an interesting way to say the least.

Good performances and the focus is well established - the editing is well done too. The story is easy to follow and there will enough scary moments to keep you engaged ... so if that floats your boat ... well you could do worse for sure.
