Page Six was the first to reveal the news, sharing that the couple welcomed their first baby together via surrogate. They reportedly had a baby girl but her name and her birth date haven’t been shared. The couple has not announced their baby news on their social media pages.

It’s more than a little odd when a director’s follow-up film to an Oscar-nominated hit is being offloaded onto theaters in the frozen tundra that is “dumpuary.” It’s weirder, still, when press materials make an effort to essentially erase the filmmaker’s name from the work entirely. It also isn’t every day that said filmmaker is Mel Gibson, a figure for which the word “controversial” does little to encapsulate his wild career and personal life.

So even if Lionsgate is coyly selling Flight Risk as “from the award-winning director of Braveheart, Apocalypto, and Hacksaw Ridge” without telling you who that award-winning director is, it doesn’t really matter. In fact, this anonymizing might turn out to be a good thing for Gibson. Nine years after the biopic Hacksaw Ridge (2016), starring Andrew Garfield as a Seventh-Day Adventist and pacifist who's called to the battlefield, Mel Gibson returns to the director's chair with American Hairlines, I mean, Flight Risk. The film stars Mark Wahlberg as Daryl Booth, a hitman marked by male pattern baldness and a penchant for torture. Joining the gleeful sadist on this bumpy ride, we have Michelle Dockery portraying a beleaguered Deputy U.S. Marshal and Topher Grace as mob accountant-turned-witness. It's a single-location three-hander with a hook, and it couldn't be less of a piece with the rest of Gibson's directorial efforts. His previous credits include the multi-award-winning Braveheart (1995), in which he also starred, the controversial mega-hit The Passion of the Christ (2004), and the controversial yet slightly-less-successful-than-Passion-though-still-a-hit Apocalypto (2006). If one thing is resoundingly clear looking at Gibson's body of work, it's that he favors the pictures with an epic heft.

Red Sea Media will commence worldwide sales talks at the AFM next month on the Michael Jai White action thriller Drive Through Fire.

The story follows an addict war veteran turned rideshare driver who helps a terrified passenger escape a human trafficking ring serving wealthy clients.

White will play a veteran detective who gets involved in the case while violent mobsters pursue the woman. White, a black belt in several martial arts disciplines, will bring his skills to the role. Drive Through Fire co-stars Dan Bakkedahl, Jimmy Carlson, Jennifer Bond, and Kate Duffy.

Andrew Garfield learned a lot from Mel Gibson on the set of 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge and says the filmmaker should continue making films.

The We Live In Time actor, who is Jewish, feels that everyone deserves opportunities to grow and learn from their past mistakes, including Gibson following his antisemitic comments.

“I learned a lot, actually. I learned that people can heal. I learned that people can change, that people can get help,” Garfield said about working with Gibson. “I learned that everyone deserves respect. And that people deserve second chances, third chances, fourth chances. That none of us are infallible.”

Garfield noted that Gibson has “done a lot of beautiful healing with himself,” adding, “And thank God. Because he’s an amazing filmmaker, and I think he deserves to make films. He deserves to tell stories, because he has a very, very big, compassionate heart.”

Mel Gibson's new movie, Monster Summer, continues the actor's unfortunate Rotten Tomatoes streak. Directed by David Henrie, known for starring in How I Met Your Mother and Wizards of Waverly Place, his new film follows a group of kids who, when a strange force threatens to ruin their summer fun, join forces with a retired police detective to embark on an adventure to save their island from a monstrous threat. With the movie now playing in theaters, reviews have been published and its Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed. Mel Gibson may just be gleefully screwing with us, but in MovieWeb's interview for his delightful new film Monster Summer, he addressed his recent trip to Malta for location-scouting, which was widely reported to be for his upcoming sequel to The Passion of the Christ. If he is psyching us out, it's a rather detailed and delightful diversion. When asked about his trip to Malta (where he met Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela) and what direction his sequel to the religious drama was taking, Gibson responded by saying:

Here we go again. In recent years, Mel Gibson’s found himself stuck in a never-ending series of Dtv-style action thrillers, similar to the kind of fare Bruce Willis churned out before his retirement. Along with his contemporaries like John Travolta, John Cusack and many others, Gibson seems totally stuck in a rut, with virtually all of these films (most of which he only has minor roles in) going totally unnoticed. Has anyone seen Panama, Agent Game, On the Line, Confidential Informant, Desperation Road, Dangerous or Force of Nature? There have been some bright spots, such as the solid Bandit (a movie he was proud of when I interviewed him) or Fatman, but for the most part, Gibson’s career as an actor in mainstream movies seems limited to this kind of fare, which is a shame.

Nevertheless, he’s still out there cranking out VOD movies, with Boneyard being the latest.

Awards season is here, which means it is also time for the annual Golden Raspberry Awards. The Razzies, which aims to (dis)honor the least successful films of the year, has announced nominations for its 44th edition.

The most-nominated film is “Expend4bles,” the fourth entry in the action-packed, but critically underwhelming, “The Expendables” franchise. It received seven nominations. Tied for second place with five noms are “The Exorcist: Believer,” the revival of the classic horror series, and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” a blood-soaked take on everyone’s favorite honey-loving bear. Two big-budget superhero movies, DC’s “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” both got four nominations.

Expend4bles leads the nominees for the Golden Raspberry Awards — aka the Razzies — which were unveiled Monday morning.

The film earned seven nominations for the Razzie Awards, which honor the worst of the year and are announced annually ahead of the Oscars noms announcement, which takes place Tuesday morning.

Expend4bles is one of five movies competing for “worst picture” of the year. The nominees in that category, along with the Razzies’ comments, are:

In the run-up to AFM Red Sea Media has come on board to handle international sales on the samurai action thriller Lone led by Japanese rising star Shogen from Brillante Ma Mendoza’s Busan selection Gensan Punch.

Josh Waller (Raze), a co-founder of Spectrevision with Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah, directed from his screenplay about a Japanese samurai and assassin who loses his family and finds himself stranded on an island where he gets kidnapped by a tribe of cannibals.

The warrior soon escapes and enacts revenge on his captors and their leader.

After Ray Stevenson passed away in Italy early into the production of the Paramount and Republic Pictures film Cassino in Ischia, a new actor for his role has been found. In late May, filming had been halted when Stevenson fell ill on the set, dying soon after at a local hospital. It wasn't clear at the time how much of the film Stevenson had shot before his passing, but now it's been revealed that his role has been recast, and presumably his scenes will be reshot with the new actor. Per Deadline, Dominic Purcell has boarded the cast to take over Steven's role with production now getting back underway in Italy.

Directed by Michael Oblowitz, Confidential Informant is part buddy cop drama and part crime thriller that works fine despite its superficial narrative. Having a cast that includes the likes of Mel Gibson doesn’t hurt, and the film manages to keep the viewers engaged in patches, if not throughout its entire runtime. The plot of Confidential Informant revolves around two war veterans, Tom Moran and Mike Thornton, who, after their stint in the Gulf War, come to work in the narcotics department of the NYPD. Their leader is the experienced Kevin Hickey, who knows what it’s like to return to civilian life after the war. After Tom discovers he has cancer and his time is limited, he asks his partner Mike to help him with a deadly plan that will help his family survive after he is gone.

He’s seen a doctor, three of them in fact, and they all tell him he has stomach cancer and not too long to live. On the surface, Lionsgate's Confidential Informant looks like it has all the potential to be the sleeper hit of the summer. Sold as a gritty crime thriller starring Mel Gibson, Dominic Purcell, Nick Stahl, and Kate Bosworth, it has the necessary stars and genre intrigue to be something special. Unfortunately, the film handcuffs itself to its worst habits and never fulfills its promise.

Directed and written by Michael Oblowitz, Michael Kaycheck, and Brooke Nasser, Confidential Informant follows two narcotics detectives Tom Moran (Purcell) and Michael Thornton (Stahl). After Moran receives troubling news about his declining health, he and Thornton -- along with their informant Carlos (Erik Valdez) -- hatch a scheme to ensure Moran's wife, Anna (Bosworth), and son collect benefits and are looked after. It might look like a foolproof plan, but it doesn't go off exactly as they anticipate, and many people are left with questions about what really happened.

Mel Gibson no longer has time for shoddy police work as seen in an exclusive Confidential Informant clip. There’s a reason studios keep throwing movies about the police and former soldiers our way: we just can’t get enough of them. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what draws us to these, but the fact that they are based on the extremely dangerous lives of ordinary people is certainly one of them. This is also what’s depicted in Confidential Informant, an upcoming action/thriller whose poster Collider gets to debut, courtesy of Lionsgate. Along with the trailer and poster, Lionsgate also revealed when the movie starring Mel Gibson (On the Line) premieres: June 27 on Digital and June 30 in theaters.

Lionsgate has released an official trailer for an action crime thriller titled Confidential Informant, another of these B-movie schlock fests being dropped on VOD right away. This doesn't look like it's any different or any better either. A police detective suffering from cancer makes a deal with an informant to get killed in the line of duty, so his family can receive the hefty death benefits from the department. This then causes all the partners to come under the scrutiny of a suspicious internal affairs agent, resulting in even more problems for everyone involved.
