Drag Me to Dinner

Listen. Some of the moments made me cringe, and I mean, A LOT. The editing feels choppy, with scenes being 10 seconds of a scripted punchline before it goes into another scene with a punchline. The hosts are alright (Neil Patrick Harris was the funniest)

The cooking element is fun but barely showcased. It sadly didn't live up to that potential that I craved from a cooking format. However, the queens are really the main dish of the omelette. The crème de la crème if you will. It was enjoyable to watch my favorite queens in new content.

It was a fun, colorful thing to put in the background as I worked. I did find it entertaining, and I wish there was more shows with drag performers.

There seems to be multiple 1 star bot reviews that seem copy pasted in these reviews.

This was not the cooking competition show it was billed to be. Don't get me wrong, I 'knew' the RDR girls, I 'knew' many of the non-RDR girls, and I actually know at least three of them. I wanted to like it, but I was let down by the lack of spontaneity. Everything seemed a 'bit.' Wouldn't this show have been so much better if it was Drag Chopped, Top Drag Chef, or Drag Supermarket Stakeout? The fakery didn't redeem the buffoonery.

It was, however, good to see the 'disgraced' Willam on the screen again. Murray Hill is the dogdamned KING of hosting. Harris and Burtka? I like them otherwise, but meh.

The first episode was fantastic, the second chaos, and they just got crazier from there. I love that they are having fun. The puns, the puns, Allllllll the puns! How can you not get that this is making fun of everything?

The hosts, the queens, MURRAY FREAKIN' HILL "Showbiz!' I swear it's also a perfect satire of 'reality' competition shows! I love how they leave it so crazy, unhinged, and blooper filled.

PLUS Making me create more words to describe and review this show. BECAUSE ONE PARAGRAPH APPARENTLY isn't enough anymore! So here is me making this six-hundred-characters to get submitted.

First, I totally get the campy vibes & humor. It's so important to continue to show and celebrate Drag. They're truly some of the most talented people out there. So, I love that this is providing more exposure to the art. But the pacing of the show is so choppy and sloppy. My brain cannot handle it. There are too many things going on and not a cohesive storyline. It bounces from cooking to Sue Chef to cooking to singing to cooking to beefcake helpers to cooking to a dinner party. I felt like I didn't know where to focus. It also looks like an elementary school kid filmed it. Sorrrrry, but this show is a drag. Heh heh heh.

Seems very overproduced and something about the show doesn't hit the spot.

The concept of the show is amazing. I've always wanted a 'Come Dine With Me' drag show but I think it should be like this you sit everyone down and the cameras follow the guests more than the cooking side of it.

A couple of things that don't hit the spot below though as if they cleaned up a few things, it could be an amazing show;

1 The David guy doesn't sit well as just seems to be there for literally no reason and brings nothing to the show.

2 Neil Patrick Harris feels like he was placed in the show for some reason. Not sure what that reason was.

3 The Murray host's voice grates on the ears.

4 Camera needs to focus on the guests and not on the "cooking".

5 The whole back of house stuff is awkward and crap too. Like, c'mon.
