Last Fall, one of the stunt coordinators I work with(D'Janine King-Lasky) told me about Bucket & Skinner, but I thought it sounded like just another "typical" Nickelodeon show! Several of our adult crew members and some of our teen and young adult actors became fans of the Bucket & Skinner show right away and went to the filming of several episodes over the past few months. They all enjoyed the gymnastic stunts and kept saying how it reminded them of our crazy surf themed film with comical beach stunts, sight gags, acrobatics, etc. I became a little curious myself because I was a gymnast years ago prior to getting into the stunt business, then more recently, a stunt coach and prop master. The more our film crew talked about the show, the more I was learning(without them knowing it)I found out that my supervisor, D'Janine had met Tom (the executive producer) 27 years ago and it also turns out that Ashley Argota was a former gymnastics student of hers (she taught Ashley cartwheels years ago, ironically, Ashley did cartwheels at the very shoot that her former coach (D'Janine)attended, how's that for coincidences?) I have to admit,at first I became more curious about all the surf themed stunts, props and set lighting, than about the show's content. Finally, the many co-incidents and parallels(such as the exact same serving trays at Taco,Taco,Taco as we had in our film)compelled me to finally watch the crew's copy of Bucket & Skinner(4 episodes). I watched all 4 episodes back-to-back and I was actually quite impressed to say the least! I don't normally watch Nickelodeon shows, but this show has gotten my attention! I will be watching Bucket & Skinner from here on out and now, I also watch the show for content! I could possibly be one of your oldest fans! Good show!Keep up the gymnastics and such(tell your writers that THIS kinda stuff is always a hit, even with us older stunt guys!)
This show has the perfect amount of comedy for all age groups. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested for the entire episode. This show had me rolling around on the floor in laughter. Keep up the good work Nickelodeon! The little girl, "Piper" I believe her name was, is one the best parts of the show. The blonde character who is conceded makes the show in my opinion. Bucket & Skinner are hilarious and play off of each other very well, but the additional characters are unique and all serve a very funny piece of the pie in this show. I haven't seen a Nickelodeon show this entertaining since "The Troop" which occasionally still reruns on Nick.
That's the review from my 6 year old, unless we are wrong and the show was targeting 2 year old, although I believe they are too smart for this.
That's too bad, because I don't have a problem with most nick shows. Spongebob, Big Time Rush (yes, I admit it. I think BTR is a very good show, in fact, one of the best on TV right now) and so on... but Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures are an epic fail. It insults the intelligence of it's target audience and leaves no choice but changing the channel.
The characters are dull, the lines are just empty and they rely on "pie in the face" stunts, but even this falls flat. It's amazing that Nick's executives are allowing just about anything to be broadcast, and after producing so many good shows, one has to wonder who was behind this.
Don't watch it.

I do not understand why this show has so many negative reviews on here. Sure, it may not be the most high brow show on TV, but it is a comedy intended for children and teens, and it is quite a good show for those audiences. I am a young adult and was a fan of Nickelodeon in the 90s when I was growing up, but they still know how to produce good shows.
I have only seen a few episodes of this show so far, but the episodes I've seen have been quite well-shot, written, and produced, and it is just as highly polished as any other teen sitcom on Nick at the moment. I am pretty partial to Bucket since he is quite a cool and adorable character who I consider to be fairly intelligent but yes, Skinner is definitely the show's least intelligent character, but that doesn't make him a bad one, contrary to what other reviewers say.
In addition to this show I also enjoy another one of Nick's shows, Big Time Rush, but this comedy stands out since it is about two guys just wanting to have fun, not about them trying to become famous like many Nick shows today. Bucket and Skinner just want to surf and enjoy themselves, so more so than other Nick shows, it reminds me of Nick's past, and in that respect I highly appreciate the effort this show makes to entertain its sometimes ungrateful viewers.

Cute new show. The cast is talented & entertaining. Very up-beat with a little bit of message. Watched for the 2nd time last night. Hope they continue to show Nicole (the detention "bully") in future episodes. Even though a "bully" she showed positive qualities at the end, & seemed to fit in well with the rest of the cast. She's cute; her character seemed genuine (not "over-the-top"). She mentioned something about surfing with the guys; maybe that's a good way to fit her in. Bucket could use a babe! And she'd soooo keep Skinner confused...more than he already is! I'll look for her in future shows. Good luck to the show and everyone involved.
