When a film becomes a pop sensation like Todd Phillips’s The Hangover, it’s not uncommon for imitators hoping to latch onto its success to flood the marketplace. Frank Vain’s Mancation is one such wannabe that fails to deliver any laughs whatsoever thanks to a cast with little comedic timing and direction and editing with even less. Every joke hangs flaccid off a comedy whose very skeleton relies on obnoxiousness and second-hand punchlines that many films have done before and have executed better. It’s not clear what Vain saw in Matt Kawczynski, Jake Matthews, or Steven Medvidick, but it’s obvious he tossed in Joey Fatone and Danica McKellar for their recognizable faces that do little else to help the film.

Danica McKellar, she who stole Kevin Arnold's heart in "The Wonder Years," will take some time off from her successful career as a youth math advocate to star in "Tasmanian Devil," a made-for-tv film on SyFy. The Hollywood Reporter relays that she'll be joined by Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno in the story of base jumpers who invade Tasmanian national park and get chased by crazed beasts wishing to tear them apart.
So, in other words, it's the strangest TV movie you'll see next year.
McKellar has continued acting since "The Wonder Years" ended, doing voice work and featuring in TV shows such as "Inspector Mom" and "Young Justice." She'll appear in 2012 in "Mancation" and "Flatland 2: Sphereland."
