Exclusive: Two well-known UK indies will become one as All3Media’s Objective Media Group consolidates Triple Brew and Betty into a new, as-yet-unnamed single label, Deadline has learned.

The restructure of Objective’s unscripted business means the prodcos’ combined slate, including the likes of The Cube, Lingo, Wheeler Dealers and Bear Grylls series Bear’s Mission With…, will be housed under one roof, with the well-known Betty and Triple Brew labels ceasing to exist. The rejig will mean job losses, we hear.

Objective houses a cluster of indie labels spanning scripted, factual and entertainment. It is one of the UK’s best-known production groups with several bases across the UK and an office in LA. It is owned by All3Media, which is in the throes of being acquired by RedBird Imi in a $1.45B deal.

Ryadh-based media conglomerate Srmg has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery to launch Asharq Discovery, a free-to-view pan-Arabic-language platform with a lineup that includes shows that have never been seen for free in Arabic before.

These include international dating reality TV series “90 Day Fiancé” (pictured), reality shows “Gold Rush” and “Wheeler Dealers” and the Morgan Freeman-hosted science docs program “Through the Wormhole.”

Warner Bros. Discovery’s offerings span a range of genres and comprise thousands of hours of premium content from outlets such as Animal Planet, TLC, Investigation Discovery, HGTV and Food Network as well as from Middle Eastern food and lifestyle television channel Fatafeat. The content has been fully adapted and tailored with Arabic voiceovers and graphics.

Significantly, the partnership also includes some regional content acquisitions and the co-production of up to 30 hours per year of original shows inspired by stories out of the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

Lionel Messi Gets Animated With Sony

Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi has inspired an animated series from Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Picture Television – Kids. Messi and the Giants, which also counts Leo Messi Management as a co-creator, will launch at Mipcom next week. The series depicts a 12-year-old Messi as he confronts various obstacles while traveling a video game on a quest to get home. “Football is the only sport around the world that can inspire excitement and connection in the same way that storytelling does,” said Joe D’Ambrosia, EVP & General Manager, Sony Pictures Television – Kids. Story editor and writer Guy Toubes (Odd Squad) is attached to the project, while Canary Islands-based Atlantis Animation serves as the lead creative studio driving graphic development and art treatment.

HGTV has announced it will begin shooting the third season of Christina on the Coast, starring Christina Anstead, in late August.

The series spotlights Anstead’s personal and professional journey as she juggles family life, her design business, and explanding her brand.

The third edition of the series will have 12 new hour-long episodes. But fans won’t have to wait until production wraps. Six fresh episodes, offering a glimpse into Christina’s life with husband Ant Anstead, star of the MotorTrend series Wheeler Dealers and Ant Anstead Master Mechanic, and their blended family of five children, are set to premiere on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 9 Pm Et/Pt.

Christina on the Coast has already attracted more than 10 million total viewers this year, making it a top 5 cable series among P25-54, W25-54, upscale P25-54, upscale W25-54 and upscale M25-54. The season three episodes are slated to premiere...

MotorTrend Group has named Mike Suggett head of programming and development. Previously, the company’s vice president of original programming, Suggett will report to Alex Wellen, MotorTrend Group global president and Gm.

Discovery plans to flip the switch on its rebrand of the Velocity cable channel as MotorTrend Network on Nov. 23, also know as the Black Friday kickoff of the holiday shopping season.

The switch comes a little over a year after Discovery set a joint venture with the MotorTrend Group, owner of the venerable Motor Trend monthly magazine. The rebranding is part of Discovery’s larger effort to build out multiplatform services around key programming genres such as automobile enthusiasts.

The fledgling MotorTrend Network streaming subscription service has about 200,000 subscribers who pay $5 a month for news, information and long- and short-form content. Programming that airs on the linear MotorTrend Network will premiere first on the subscription app.

Velocity has announced the 13th season of its Wheeler Dealers TV show premieres Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 9:00pm Et/Pt. Master mechanic Edd China and automotive valuation expert Mike Brenner return to find, fix, and flip old vehicles at their new California shop.

In the Wheeler Dealers season 13 premiere, Mike and Edd take on a 1968 Chevy Corvette C3. Other vehicles featured in the 13th season include a 1988 Ford Mustang, a 1980 Chevy Luv truck, a 1963 Chevy Corvair, and a 1965 Land Rover IIa.

The show centers on restoring classic vehicles.
