I saw Sweetland in Sydney when it was in cinemas and honestly, I really loved it. It's one of those films that sticks with you - slow in the best way, emotional without trying too hard, and just beautifully shot. The performances felt real, and there's this quiet intensity throughout that pulls you in.

I've been slowly making my way through all of Green Frog's films, and I've got to say, for such a new company, they're seriously good at picking and making films that actually mean somethin.

Sweetland just confirmed that again for me.

The direction and cinematography in this film is next level too. I can only image the budget for this, wow!

A couple of weeks ago, a director from Australia screened his movie here in Goondiwindi. After his screening he was telling me that his company is brining Sweetland here soon.

I've since been following Green Frog's work closely and now after watching Sweetland, I can see why they have so much success.

This movie oddly feels very connected to my country town. We are going through a lot of change and quite a tough time at the moment and I personally feel responsible for holding truth and not allowing our current events to continue on. Yes, change is good but just like Sweetland I want to protect my community. This is my land and my home and I do not want to move because of the trouble we currently facing. I do not want this type of change.

The director of the movie done an incredible job of putting all the pictures together to tell this story. I will definitely recommend this film to anyone and especially if they are in small country towns there is a lot of connection.

I consider myself to be an old soul and lover of an older, outdated way of life. So when I saw the description of this movie, I was very intrigued. For the first half plus of the film, I was rewarded well. The story was moving along and the acting was fairly good. There is some mystery surrounding people and events, but nothing outside of what can be considered normal thought and happenstance. Unfortunately, they waste this great beginning and middle, probably 7 or 8 out of 10 on my scale, for a terrible ending. I won't spoil anything for you, but they lean on weird and "supernatural or surreal" instead of just sticking to what was a great story based in reality. 5 is the highest rating I give to a movie I don't want to watch again. This certainly isn't worth a repeat, but if you're an old soul, maybe give it a gander. Just know they go weird at the end.
