Korean Drama "At A Distance, Spring is Green" is a college drama that separates itself from the rest by focusing on the friendship aspect, rather than the romance. That is not to say that there wasn't a love story. There was one indeed, but it wasn't the main prompt of the story and it was of less intensity and enjoyment, though it had its cute moments.
The friendship though was the star of the drama. It allowed the characters to grow, open up about their struggles and overcome them eventually. The characters had great chemistry to boot.
As for the family drama, it was well paced and had enough intensity to keep things interesting. The college life part was enjoyable too, and it didn't overshadow the main story or get tiring.
Finally, the performances were great from everyone in the cast and the cinematography had the right youthful vibes.
So, overall, 8 out of 10.

At A Distance Spring Is Green is a perfect little slice of life genre piece. While this didn't have a lot of attention (or budget) the show is a great example of how slice of life can be engaging while not pushing too much of a plot. The story lines are simple yet executed well, with just enough tension to keep the story moving and the viewer engaged. Nearly all the characters are developed and interesting, even the side characters. The examination of how different experiences and hardships can effect anyone was a down to earth story that I really enjoyed and looked forward to every week. The length of episodes was perfect, not too long or short, although the last episode was mostly fluff as the tensions and open plot lines were resolved in episode 11.
Overall this was a wonderful watch, I was hooked from start to finish, and I really enjoyed a story that was both sweet and refreshing.

I'm going to be really honest with you: I did not know where this show was headed as the description of the plot somewhat hints at the show to be a BL drama. So, if you're thinking in the same direction, let me tell you this: It's NOT.
Instead, this series is about three young people - who couldn't possibly be any more different from each other - meeting in college and finding themselves constantly tangled up in each other's business, thus leading to them becoming the most unexpected best friends - and more (remember: NO BL DRAMA HERE! Lol).
And during this journey of becoming friends, they not only learn a lot about each other, but also about themselves and about society - ultimately giving us viewers a few life lessons on the way.
And while everything I just said sounded super boring and serious and typical, this show is anything but, I promise you! You'll laugh to your heart's content, you'll shed a few tears and - most importantly - you'll feel empowered and recharged with energy to tackle the next challenge of your life after watching this amazing series.
So why the minus?
Somewhere between episodes 8 to 10 I felt like the plot lost its energy and like it was stuck somehow...? But that only lasted for 1 episode, 2 max. And resolved itself quickly after.

Honestly, I watched this for Park JiHoon because I just finished Weak Hero Class 1 and he was amazing in that. I'm on episode 9 of this show and I do plan to finish it. Even though it's not my favorite premise and the main character was actually a bit annoying in the beginning, the relationships in this drama were refreshing. The misunderstandings were not dragged out for episodes upon episodes (except between the male leads, but that was kind of the point so it didn't bother me) because the characters communicated with each other. This is what gets the most points from me in this drama. The lead couple is cute and actually healthy. Thus far, the family drama is really well paced and not too distracting but also good and present enough to be interested. I really want to find out about the brother. If you are looking for something lighter with an emphasis on relationships, and you also love to look at Park JoHoon's eyes, I recommend this.
But, even after saying all that, I can't make myself give it more than a 6. I've seen better acting and better plots, and more intriguing characters. Also the female lead is supposed to have anxiety but I'm tired of the stuttering FL trope and want her to stand up for herself more often as part of her character development.

This drama will be all-time favourite ever of everyone who got the special chance to watch it!! Coz not everyone is blessed to witness this kind of Gem!! Amazing storyline with amazing actors!! Just need more series like this in K-drama industry!!
