Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Finally Scores a Comic-Accurate MCU Mask Upgrade
Image
While the MCU languishes in a self-imposed cinematic hiatus, Habro has been making progress on its collectibles empire. The latest addition was to Wolverine’s comic-accurate yellow suit, which was last seen in Deadpool 3. Now, Hasbro has an all-new comic-accurate yellow mask to pair with the suit.

The masks are in 1:1 scale (one size fits all), feature white eye screens, have a removable pad inside for fit and comfort, and are each priced at $99.99 (stands are included for display purposes). [Hasbro Pulse]

Considering how well-received the movie was by the fans, especially when it came to the costume of the clawed mutant, the toy company was smart to adapt and enact quickly.

When Hugh Jackman Said He Was Disappointed With X-Men Origins Wolverine For Failing To Represent The Character: “We’ve Never Really Delivered…”

Hugh Jackman Said He Was Disappointed With X-Men Origins Wolverine(Photo Credit –Instagram)

The standalone first film about the clawed mutant, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was slammed by fans and critics. It turns out even Hugh Jackman, who portrayed Wolverine, was disappointed with the film.

In an interview with Collider in 2013, Hugh Jackman said that X-Men Origins had failed to meet his expectations. X-Men Origins: Wolverine chronicled the early life of James Logan (Jackman) and the army experiment that turned him into a mutant. The film, which grossed $373 million on a $150 million budget, was widely criticized for its sloppy script, scoring 38 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Caught Stealing’ Director Darren Aronofsky Is Tackling His Most Commercial Project Yet
Image
Inside filmmaker Darren Aronofsky there are two wolves.

One wolf yearns to make mainstream entertainment that is accepted by the critical establishment and the moviegoing masses. The other wolf is more fussy, more artsy, able to turn even the most commercial concept into something idiosyncratic, offbeat and, occasionally, downright alienating. It’s the tug-of-war between these two wolves that makes him such an exciting filmmaker. You can see them tussling right before your eyes.

“The Whale” in 2022 chronicled a morbidly obese man eating himself to death, but was a sleeper hit (making nearly $60 million on a budget of just $3 million) and won Brendan Fraser an Oscar. In 2014 “Noah” was a...

How To Train Your Dragon Worldwide Box Office: Live-Action Is Edging Close To Surpassing A 93%-Rated Marvel Superhero Movie
Image
How To Train Your Dragon Worldwide Box Office(Photo Credit –YouTube)

The live-action adaptation of the 2010 animated fantasy adventure How to Train Your Dragon received rave reviews from critics after its theatrical release around two months ago. The remake has grossed over $619 million worldwide, surpassing several 2025 titles, including Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Sinners, and 28 Years Later.

Recently, How to Train Your Dragon also outperformed past box office hits like Steven Spielberg’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale, and The Passion of the Christ, among others. And now, the film is just inches away from overtaking a widely acclaimed Marvel superhero movie. That film is none other than James Mangold’s Rotten Tomatoes 93%-rated Logan (2017), starring Hugh Jackman as the titular hero.

Rewatching Hugh Jackman’s Dream Film Reveals a X-Men Movie Nod Hiding in Plain Sight
Image
The world might recognize Hugh Jackman for his X-Men role as Wolverine, aka Logan, but this man’s got range. Apart from appearing in the Marvel franchise and collaborating with Christopher Nolan in The Prestige, Jackman has also appeared in one of the most dreamy films of Hollywood. The musical starring Zac Efron and Zendaya—The Greatest Showman.

But did you know that despite being a musical full of color, dance, and dreams, The Greatest Showman couldn’t escape Hugh Jackman’s superhero roots? Yep, as per IMDb, the 2017 movie and his X-Men franchise are secretly connected. And this surprising link is all thanks to James Mangold, the man who directed Logan and helped shape Hugh Jackman’s musical.

Even though The Greatest Showman was directed by Michael Gracey, the studio brought in James Mangold during the final stage of production to help polish the film. And that’s why,...

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Stomps the Wolverine Movie that Hugh Jackman Admitted “Never Delivered” at the Global Box Office
Image
Several movies were affected by the writers' strike between 2007 and 2008. Daniel Craig has admitted that he was forced to contribute to the script of the James Bond film Quantum of Solace on set, while Michael Bay has acknowledged that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was rushed into production with an unfinished screenplay. At around the same time, Hugh Jackman was about to get the ball rolling on his first solo film as Wolverine. Directed by Gavin Hood, the film encountered numerous issues before, during, and after production, ultimately underperforming at the box office and nearly prompting Jackman to quit playing the character altogether. The movie in question, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has now been overtaken at the box office by Jurassic World Rebirth.

The seventh installment of the long-running action-adventure series has grossed $184 million domestically, having overtaken the likes of The Revenant ($183 million), Jurassic Park III ($181 million), and X-Men Origins: Wolverine...

Rumor: Spider-man: Brand New Day Will Feature Shang-Chi, Silver Samurai, Viper, And...Spidey's Alien Suit?
Image
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is believed to have started pre-production in the UK this week, but we're still no closer to knowing for sure what the movie is about. A seemingly endless list of villains has been shared by social media scoopers (one of them has to be proven right eventually if they pick everyone), and we can now add two more to the list.

According to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, he’s seen concept art suggesting Viper and Silver Samurai will be the movie's main villains. Versions of both characters were paired up in 2013's The Wolverine, and the insider suggests Spidey will be joined by Shang-Chi.

However, we'd be remiss not to point out that Perez was firm in his belief that Spider-Man: Brand New Day would feature Venom and Knull shortly after the release of Venom: The Last Dance. So, take this with a pinch of salt.

X-men: 10 Biggest Mistakes 20th Century Fox Made With The Franchise That Marvel Studios Must Avoid
Image
The X-Men franchise launched in 2000 and was a game-changer in more ways than one. Not only did it kickstart Kevin Feige's Hollywood career, but it proved that superheroes could work on screen, ushering in the likes of Spider-Man and, eventually, Iron Man.

Following the Disney/Fox merger, Marvel Studios is tasked with rebooting the X-Men franchise, and that's obviously exciting for many reasons. However, 20th Century Fox did a lot wrong, and while the future is now looks bright, the past was full of mistakes.

It's those we're taking a look at today as we delve into some of the original X-Men franchise's biggest blunders. The hope now is that Marvel Studios won't repeat past mistakes when that reboot happens.

To take a look at the undeniable disasters the MCU must avoid, click the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

‘Predator: Killer of Killers’: The Samurai Story Is Proof Dan Trachtenberg Shouldn’t Waste Hiroyuki Sanada
Image
Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator: Killer of Killers is all anyone is talking about right now after the iconic animated movie opened up to a warm welcome on the streaming platform, Hulu.

Starring three different time periods of human civilizations, and several different major characters, Predator: Killer of Killers also delves into the rich history and culture of feudal Japan. That little segment in the movie is proof that Dan Trachtenberg shouldn’t waste Hiroyuki Sanada’s worth as an actor and make a Predator movie with the Shōgun star already!

Hiroyuki Sanada and Predator: Killer of Killers have proved their worth

In 2022, Dan Trachtenberg delved into the Yautja franchise and directed a film titled Prey. Set during the 1700s, the film featured a determined Comanche warrior going against a modern Predator (whom she called Mupitsi).

John Wick: How a movie that almost went direct-to-dvd became iconic
Image
One really has to hand it to Keanu Reeves. The guy has a knack for starring in zeitgeist-defining action films, with him leading Point Break, Speed and The Matrix. Yet, perhaps his most iconic character, John Wick, is the most unlikely success story of them all. It was seen as an upstart indie flick which came close to going direct-to-video, only for it to become one of the most successful action franchises of all time, and a property that’s unlikely to die anytime soon, even if its own hero’s survival is kind of up in the air right now post John Wick 4. With Keanu Reeves reprising the role in Ballerina, now’s a good time to look back at how this little action franchise that could came to be.

Flashback to the fall of 2014. Keanu Reeves, while already a legend, was struggling to reinvent himself as a now middle-aged star.

’Thunderbolts*’ Slices Through Hugh Jackman’s Forgotten First Solo Wolverine Movie at Global Box Office
Image
Despite excellent reviews and a solid-enough debut a month ago, Marvel’s Thunderbolts* cratered in the subsequent weeks at the box office. Somewhat surprisingly, the movie is poised to fall short of even the low benchmark set by its immediate predecessor, Captain America: Brave New World. That movie struggled to pass the $200 million mark domestically and the $400 million mark worldwide — milestones that will likely elude Thunderbolts*, as it looks to conclude its theatrical run on a disappointing note.

With over $185 million domestically and another $188 million from overseas markets, the film’s cumulative global haul stands at $374 million so far. Produced on a reported budget of $180 million, which is on the lower end of the spectrum for a major Marvel movie, Thunderbolts* remains one of the lowest-grossing installments of the highest-grossing film franchise in history. The movie was barely able to overtake the $370 million lifetime global haul of Captain America: The First Avenger,...

Hugh Jackman's Weapon X Struggles During the Age of Apocalypse With a New ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Hot Toys Figure
Image
It’s been almost one year since Deadpool & Wolverine sliced into theaters everywhere, and the film left its mark as one of the biggest accomplishments in MCU history. Not only did it gross well over $1 billion, but it also finally brought Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine into the MCU. One of the biggest surprises of the film comes in the first act, when Deadpool heads out into the multiverse to search for a version of Wolverine that can replace his, who died in Logan (2017). One of the variants he comes across is an Age of Apocalypse Wolverine, who immediately attacks Wade and sends him packing. Hot Toys has released a new figure of this Age of Apocalypse version of Wolverine, who has only ever been called Weapon X in this universe, that bears a terrifyingly uncanny resemblance to Jackman’s appearance in the film.

9 best X-Men movies to watch (and 5 bad ones to skip)
Image
When X-Men arrived on the big screen in 2000, the comic book world was very different. DC Comics had been successful in movies until 1997's infamous Batman & Robin ended that trend. Marvel was much worse, though, with rough projects until 1998's Blade became a hit and changed things forever.

So when Bryan Singer brought X-Men to the big screen, hopes were high he could reverse this trend. He more than succeeded as the movie was a smash hit that pleased not just comic book fans but general audiences as well. It would begin an epic franchise that would see various ups and downs over the next two decades.

The movies are unique, with a "prequel" series coming after the original trilogy that links back to the older films, along with some good spinoffs. Sadly, not every entry is top-notch. When the films are good, they're great, but when they're bad,...

Hugh Jackman Teases Whether Wolverine Will Appear In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Image
With Wolverine’s recent addition to Disney’s MCU, Hugh Jackman is navigating questions about the character’s onscreen future.

Following his return to the role (aka Logan) in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine, the Oscar nominee recently assured he “actually” has no news about whether he’ll slip on the Adamantium claws once again for Avengers: Doomsday.

“I really can’t say much, except when you say ‘appear,’ more like dominate and destroy every other character—I’m kidding,” teased Jackman on The View. “I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add.”

Jackman made his debut as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men, reprising the role in X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), Logan (2017) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).

Wolverine Claws His Way Into Battle With New Marvel Comic Cover Funko Pop Collectible
Image
There are a lot of exciting things happening in the MCU right now. The Thunderbolts* are currently saving the day on the big screen and The Fantastic Four are about to take their First Steps towards a larger threat this summer. However, one of the biggest pushes the universe has seen in recent years has been the introduction of Mutants and the X-Men family of characters. Last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine saw the return of Hugh Jackman's version of the famous X-Men. Now, before Fox’s X-Men assemble in Avengers: Doomsday, Wolverine is preparing for battle with his latest ferocious Funko Pop.

A part of Funko's Pop Comic Book Cover line, this figure is based on Marvel's Wolverine #17 from 1989. The cover saw Wolverine in his brown and yellow X-Men attire lunging towards the reader with his sharp claws out. The Pop does a fine jump emulating that intimidating pose.

Hugh Jackman Slams Ryan Reynolds Over 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Dance Scene
Image
Hugh Jackman called out his Deadpool & Wolverine costar and best-buddy Ryan Reynolds during his show at Radio City Music Hall, New York, where he is currently performing his stage show, From New York, With Love. While there is no bad feeling between the pair of friends, Jackman revealed his one big issue with being left out of one particular scene of Marvel’s 2024 box office juggernaut.

Jackman returned to his role as Wolverine seven years after believing he had played him for the last time in Logan back in 2017. The film did exactly what it needed to in providing an unapologetic, brutal, fan-serving, loud, brash, violent feast of a movie that took off on its debut and refused to die – just like its two titular characters.

Even though Jackman appeared the vast majority of scenes in the movie, one scene that he was not involved in was the one that...

The Kingpin Vincent D'Onoforio Wants To Play Swamp Thing In The Dcu
Image
Vincent D'Onoforio is best known for his role as Kingpin within Marvel television. He's been the antithesis to Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the Netflix series Daredevil and the Disney+ original series Daredevil: Born Again. D'Onofrio has also appeared as Kingpin in The Punisher, Hawkeye, and Echo. His acting as the Kingpin and the physical presence as well as the emotional depth he brings to the character has been praised by both fans and critics.

Today on X, Vincent D’Onoforio was asked if there was a character other than Wilson Fisk that he would like to play. He very simply replied “Swamp thing”.

‘Logan’ Was A Major Change Of Pace For Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine
Hugh Jackman
Image Source: 20th Century Studios After Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine — well, at least a multiverse version of the character — appeared in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine, it apparently ignited renewed interest in Jackman’s other films featuring the character, as Logan has become one of the top-streaming films on Max. The 2017 film, the third in a Wolverine trilogy that included X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine, was made without most of Jackman’s “X-Men” co-stars (Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier was the only X-Men character with a large presence in the film). Because of that, Jackman said that Logan felt much different than other movies in the franchise. 'Captain America: Brave New World' Officially Beats One of the Best Batman Movies as It Leaves Theaters
Image
Having completed two months in theaters worldwide, Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World is nearing the end of its run. It'll soon debut on digital, where new audiences will hopefully be able to check it out. Not too many people, relatively speaking, showed up to watch the film in theaters. Brave New World remains one of the lowest-grossing installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the biggest film franchise in global box office history. That being said, it passed a couple of landmark superhero movies on its way out.

With $413 million in the bank so far at the global box office, Brave New World has now overtaken the $412 million lifetime global haul of Tim Burton's Batman, which set records during its original run in 1989. The movie has also overtaken the $406 million lifetime global haul of X-2: X-Men United, often considered one of the greatest comic book movies ever made. Brave New World...

Adamantium vs. Vibranium: Strengths and Weaknesses Explained
Image
The world of the Marvel Universe is highly intriguing, for it is filled with incredible characters, unbelievable locations, ruthless villains, and extraordinary tech. It also has fictional metals that have led to whole discourses and debates about them. Among these many metals, few are as legendary and hotly debated as adamantium and vibranium.

Both existing in the Marvel Universe, these metals have long captivated fans for decades due to their extraordinary properties and unique applications. While adamantium is famously associated with Wolverine’s indestructible claws and skeleton, vibranium is the core element of Captain America’s iconic red, blue, and white shield and the reason for Wakanda’s technological advancements. Even though both metals are unique and important in their own special ways, the question of which metal is superior has sparked intense discussions among Marvelholics for decades.

The Professor X Mistake Marvel Needs To Avoid In Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Now that the cast has been announced for "Avengers: Doomsday," you've gotta wonder if "X-Men: Doomsday" would be the better title. It's not just Doctor Doom making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the next "Avengers" film, it's also a certain merry band of mutant heroes. The X-Men are all going to be played by their actors from the 20th Century Fox films, including Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier.

We should've seen this coming. Every gesture the McU's Multiverse Saga made towards the X-Men brought back the Fox actors. Sir Stewart even played a variant of Xavier in 2022's "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness." Stewart didn't actually enjoy filming the "Doctor Strange" cameo, but he's back for more! That Xavier wasn't the precise iteration from previous films, but he did quote himself from the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Patrick Stewart and other Star Trek stars set for Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Patrick Stewart will be back in one of his greatest, most famous roles. But it’s not Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a Star Trek production--at least not yet. Fans are still holding out hope that Stewart will play Picard again in some sort of follow-up to Star Trek: Picard, which ran for three seasons and ended, believe it or not, nearly two years ago already… on April 20, 2023.

So, what role will Stewart return to? That would be Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, or iterations of him. Stewart is on board for the upcoming Marvel Studios megamovie Avengers: Doomsday. This comes after Stewart appeared in X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins, Wolverine, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He also voiced Xavier for several X-Men videogames.

It had already been announced that Robert Downey Jr. would play Doctor Doom.

The Movie Ryan Reynolds Called the 'Greatest Comic Book Adaptation Ever' Is Coming to Max
Image
Max is set to receive one of the greatest comic book movies ever made, at least according to Ryan Reynolds. The X-Men spinoff movie Logan is slated to hit the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streaming service at the start of April.

Beginning April 1, Max subscribers will be able to stream 2017's Logan, the third and final installment in 20th Century Fox's solo Wolverine trilogy. Before Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart respectively returned as variants of Wolverine and Professor X in Deadpool & Wolverine and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the 2017 X-Men spinoff was set to serve as the swan songs for both of the characters. Drawing inspiration from the "Old Man Logan" comic book storyline by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, Logan follows an aged Wolverine and an extremely ill Charles Xavier who must defend a young mutant named Laura (Dafne Keen) from the Reavers.

Logan was directed by James Mangold,...

Darren Aronofsky In Talks To Direct New Adaptation Of Stephen King's Cujo For Netflix
Image
We found out last week that a new take on Stephen King's killer dog novel, Cujo, is in the works for Netflix, and the project may have nabbed a somewhat surprising director.

According to Jeff Sneider in his latest newsletter (and since backed up by THR), Darren Aronofsky is in negotiations to helm the movie.

Though some would consider this the filmmaker's first foray into the horror genre, that's certainly debatable. Aronofsky has included horror elements in a number of his previous films, and many would view the likes of Mother!, Black Swan, and even Requiem for a Dream to be full-on horror movies.

King's novel focuses on a mother and her young seizer-prone son being terrorized by a huge St. Bernard who becomes a rabid killing machine after being bitten by a bat.

Cujo was previously adapted for the big screen back in 1983, with Lewis Teague directing from...

Darren Aronofsky in talks to direct the Cujo remake
Image
There have been rumblings of a remake of the classic Stephen King adaptation Cujo for a long time – in fact, one was officially announced way back in 2013. In 2015, we heard that the remake had taken an unexpected turn, reimagining the name Cujo as an acronym that stood for Canine Unit Joint Operations. That project seemed to be scrapped when King got the rights to the story back in 2017… But last week, we learned that the Cujo remake has found a new home: the Netflix streaming service. And now, industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that a director might be close to signing on to the project, as Darren Aronofsky is said to be in negotiations to take the helm.

Aronofsky’s previous directorial efforts include Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan, Noah, mother!, and The Whale.

As we heard last week, Netflix secured...

This Deadpool and Wolverine scene is the most ridiculous in the entire MCU
Image
Our motormouth, Deadpool, has been a skilled fighter, a lover, and silly, sort of. But then visiting Logan's grave in hopes that he can actually resurrect that angry mutant with adamantium claws is just pure plain ridiculous. Bringing actors who played dead characters back isn't an issue for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) now that the multiverse is here, but then this scene wasn't needed.

The beginning of Deadpool & Wolverine sees Wade Wilson trying to dig up Wolverine's grave as he thinks he is the anchor being of his earth. Without him, all will be lost. So he pulls Logan - or whatever was left of him after 2017's Logan - out of the grave and has a final chat before soldiers from the Time Variance Authority (Tva) arrive.

Now it is understandable that he was afraid that he might lose his world, but visiting Logan doesn't make sense. Especially...

The B-Side – 2025 Oscars Special (with Joe Reid & Chris Feil)
Image
Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we usually talk about movie stars and not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones they made in between. Today, however, we talk about Oscar movies (!), or better yet, movies that remind us of Oscar movies!

Conor and I welcome back the lovely Joe Reid & Chris Feil (co-host of This Had Oscar Buzz and writer of a series of great pieces of Oscar history for Vanity Fair). Today, we each choose a movie adjacent to a current Best Picture Oscar nominee.

The movies include Seconds, The Name of the Rose, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Wolverine. Also discussed is filmmaker Bill Morrison’s nomination for his incredible short film Incident, Jean-Jacques Annaud’s 1981 film Quest for Fire, and our recent This Had Oscar Buzz guest appearance talking about The Devil’s Own.

Reacher Season 3: Who Plays Xavier Quinn? Hollywood’s Most Underrated Villain We All Hated in ‘Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift’
Image
Quick ViewDrift King in the The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo DriftA corrupt politician in The WolverineShredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out Of The Shadows

Reacher season 3 is drawing a lot of attention with this season’s lineup of formidable antagonists. Among them, Pauline is the most highlighted antagonist character because of his size, which clearly surpasses the protagonist Jack Reacher. But Pauline is not the only villain in this series. There is a looming presence of a mysterious man called Francis Xavier Quinn whose association with the events of the plot is undeniable.

Although Quinn is not present in the first three episodes of Reacher season 3, he emerges as the most deceitful villain that Reacher has faced. He is a ruthless and cunning character who is playing chess with Reacher, making him a true adversary who can challenge Reacher intellectually.

Why Xavier Quinn From Reacher Season 3 Looks So Familiar
Image
This article contains mild spoilers for "Reacher" Season 3.

"Reacher" Season 3 has received a lot of advance attention for its antagonist game. However, much of it has been directed at the hulking Paulie (Olivier Richters), whose gigantic frame makes even Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) look puny in comparison. While this is understandable from a visual standpoint, it's worth noting that Paulie is far from the only villain in the mix. Rug purveyor Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) seems to be up to very little good, and the looming presence of an ominous man called Francis Xavier Quinn is also hovering above the events.

While Quinn is largely absent from the show's first three episodes, he's heavily telegraphed to be the most devious villain Reacher has faced yet. The actor who's tasked with portraying the character is none other than Brian Tee, who happens to have plenty of experience in all levels...

‘Awards Chatter’ Pod: James Mangold on ‘A Complete Unknown,’ Genre-Hopping and Why He Works So Well with Actors
Image
James Mangold, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, is — and for 30 years has been — one of the most dependable filmmakers in Hollywood, always good for an entertaining and solid, if not showy, film, featuring great performances, regardless of genre.

Indeed, Mangold has directed dramas (Heavy and Girl, Interrupted), biopics (Walk the Line), westerns (3:10 to Yuma), crime/thrillers (Cop Land), action movies (Ford v Ferrari), rom-coms (Kate & Leopold), action/comedies (Knight and Day), mystery/horror films (Identity) and franchise films (The Wolverine, Logan and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny). But because he does little to call attention to himself as the auteur of a film, he has, for much of his career, been overlooked, in terms of conversations about top filmmakers and awards.

That changed this awards season with his latest film, A Complete Unknown, which chronicles four years in the life of Bob Dylan,...

Nicholas Hoult Would Consider Return to the MCU as Beast
Image
Nicholas Hoult is pretty busy right now as he comes out the other side of several prominent movie roles, including Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, and will be taking on the iconic comic book villain role of Lex Luthor in this summer’s Superman. However, it seems that there is another comic book character that he would not say no to appearing as again, even if it seems incredibly unlikely to happen. That character would be the X-Men’s Beast.

Prior to his new casting as a major player in James Gunn’s new Dcu, Hoult took on the role of Beast in Fox’s X-Men franchise, playing the younger version of the character that was played in the original X-Men movies by Kelsey Grammer. Grammer has already reprised his role as the character in the MCU, lending his voice to the new CGI version of Hank McCoy/Beast seen in The Marvels,...

Hugh Jackman’s Total Payout for Playing “Wolverine” in 10 Movies Will Blow Your Mind
Image
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is the stuff of legends. When people hear the name “Wolverine,” his face immediately comes to mind. But while we’ve all admired his rugged claws and brooding charm, there’s something else that’s just as iconic—his paycheck.

Jackman didn’t just play Wolverine for the love of the game. Nope, he cashed in big time. Over 20 years and 10 movies, he earned an estimated $100 million. When Jackman first strolled into Wolverine’s boots, he was just a guy from Australia with a few acting credits.

By the time he hung up those claws (or so we thought), he was one of Hollywood’s highest-paid stars. But how did his paycheck grow over the years? And why did he sometimes make less than anticipated? Let’s break it down, one movie at a time.

When Hugh Jackman Was Tempted By A £1 Co-Ownership Offer From Ryan Reynold’s Wrexham Rivals
Image
Did Hugh Jackman almost buy a soccer team with Ryan Reynolds? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

But hold up: he wasn’t about to team up with Deadpool 3 co-star Ryan Reynolds and co-own Wrexham AFC. Nope, Hugh Jackman had a better offer on the table: a £1 co-ownership deal with one of Wrexham’s rivals. Sounds tempting, right?

The offers came pouring in shortly after Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over Wrexham AFC in 2021, and the small Welsh club went viral. Under the ownership of the Deadpool duo, Wrexham went from a modest football team to a media sensation, gaining global attention, new fans, and a hefty increase in support.

Naturally, clubs across the league figured, “Why not tap into that Jackman-Reynolds rivalry?” After all, the two actors love teasing each other on social media and in interviews, making the idea of a Jackman vs. Reynolds rivalry in the football world even juicier.

‘A Complete Unknown’ Director James Mangold Says There’s Hostility to Movies That ‘Wear Their Heart on Their Sleeve’: We ‘Shouldn’t Be Embarrassed to Feel S—’
Image
James Mangold misses the era when movies weren’t embarrassed to make audiences feel something. The director of the Bob Dylan musical biopic “A Complete Unknown” and comic book adaptation “Logan” believes there’s a growing hostility to films that wear “their hearts on their sleeve.”

“Most of my generation, my peers, have been generally fascinated by irony or detachment. I never felt completely at home in that idiom because I felt those [films] were cool and clever, but not necessarily moving,” the newly minted Oscar nominee said at Sundance’s annual gala on Friday night, where he was feted with the second-ever Trailblazer Award (the first was bestowed to Christoper Nolan in 2024). “Movies that put their feelings on the line, the way we talk about them and use words like melodramatic or chewing the scenery or too much, we kill some of the fearlessness [of directors].”

Mangold expressed his excitement in returning to Sundance,...
