Cole

Cole is the story of young man looking to break out of a small town and make a better life for himself. It's a familiar story that has been done many times before however it is well filmed and manages to hold your interest throughout. This is in no small way down to a strong performance from the likable Richard De Klerk who carries the film.

It's a clash of cultures as the poor boy and the rich girl overcome the inevitable problems a difference in social status brings. It is fairly predictable in that the usual clichés are here drunken rednecks, over protective parents etc but the acting performances are strong enough to get over this issue.

Although it plays as a long episode of a soap, Cole has enough drama to make it a really enjoyable film. Well worth a watch.
