According to creators Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack, the blonde woman seen with Glep in the Halloween and Christmas episodes is Glep's wife and is named Marge Simpson, but the character has never seen Les Simpsons (1989) and gets annoyed when people bring it up to her.
They originally intended to use the Comic Sans font for the credits but were unable to acquire the rights to use it.
Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel originally wanted Dan Aykroyd to play the host in 'A Silly Halloween Special' as an affectionate joke about Aykroyd's fascination with and belief in the paranormal. When Aykroyd proved unavailable, Norm MacDonald was offered the role but declined due to his then-secret battle with cancer, so Jim Knobeloch was hired instead.
According to co-creator Zach Hadel, the budget for the entire first season of the show was equal to the budget for the average episode of Les Griffin (1999).
David Firth creator of "Salad fingers" voices Shrimp in the third episode.
