Gumnaami

Gumnami might be a good film to you, it might be a bad film to you. But you cannot deny the fact Gumnaami is a very important film to the country. This is the most authentic movie about Netaji ever made.

It's time to open our eyes and shed a light on Netaji's misterius disappearance for the sake of his unconditional love for the nation and aggressiveness towards snatching freedom from Britishers, which was a major reason why he was cornered by India's top leaders, hoping freedom would come by spreading peace across the nation. How fool we were, are, and hopefully, will be.

It might not be 'The Tashkent Files' but is still a gem. Especially for me as it is about one of my all time favorite heroes. Even non Bengalis like me can enjoy the movie with subtitles. It is anyway beautiful to just listen to people speaking Bengali. But since there is also a lot of English and Hindi in the movie so the language factor doesn't matter much... Hope one day the truth about the true liberator of India will come out and hopefully we will stop worshipping false gods... Hope the tags of 'Mahatma' and 'Father of the Nation' will one day be taken off an 'Adharmi' Gandhi...

And kudos to Anuj Dhar for his passion and work...

This movie is based on the book Conundrum, written by Anuj Dhar and Chandrachur Ghose. Anuj Dhar has also written India's Biggest Cover-up and What Happened to Netaji. For those who have read these books, the movie provides a visual representation to the facts and incidents that are mentioned in the books.

To those who have not read the books, this movie will give you a sense of the tremendous injustice meted out to India's greatest freedom fighter who sacrificed his entire life for his beloved motherland.

The best thing of this film is its brilliant presentation. It's a very well researched film. I get to know so many things I've not any idea about. Prosenjit Chatterjee's portrayal of Gumnaami Baba made me emotional and forced me to shed tears in some scenes. Totally loved Anirban Bhattacharya & Tanushree Chakraborty.

All the songs were another positive thing of the film. This movie has something that made me search so many things on Google after finishing the film. I think this movie will remain with me for a long time. Undoubtedly, Gumnaami is one of the best work of Srijit Mukherji and A Must Watch For Every Indian.
