So for these type of films a lot that are similar can be made overly confusing and boring in parts and Source Code, thank god, isn't that. The plot is easy to understand, the jargon used isnt over the top and I found myself gripped throughout. 2nd reason is that films like this hinge on the ending. The ending has to be good and I believe this delivers. It's a nice, happy ending. There's no unanswered questions and you're left fulfilled.
Beyond that the characters are likeable and it's well acted from all involved. Listen, it's not a film you'll shout and scream about. It's just a nice little thriller that you'll watch and go "you know what I quite liked that". If you're put off by the idea that it's sci-fi then don't be, because the sci-fi element is next to nothing. But yeah, I would recommend to watch if you haven't already.
The best part of the movie is it's pace which will not gives you a chance to sit back or blink. The movie is very smart and suspenseful. The screenplay of the movie is intelligent and will make sure that you are glued to your seats. Direction and cinematography is good.
Acting is great and Jake Gyllenhaal is mesmerising. Vera Farmiga is superb and Michelle Monaghan is memorable. The movie presents superhero in a new form without costumes and special powers but doing the same thing of saving the world.
A must watch movie with an great ending.
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesJake Gyllenhaal had an ear bud in during the train sequences, into which the director would start playing music at any point in time to help Gyllenhaal's character look disoriented . The director played random songs as well as "static buzz" at times.
- GaffesThe conductor always asks Colter for his ticket, but never asks Christina for hers. On Chicago commuter trains, conductors collect tickets as you are on the train, the seats even have clips to hold those tickets; Colter must have gotten on after Christina. The train interiors are not Chicago area trains.
