Dolph Lundgren, Ron Perlman, Peter Weller, Michael Jai White, Tony Jaa, and Celina Jade in Skin Trade (2014)
Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin revealed on his official website today that Cinemax has ordered a pilot for a TV series based on his 1980s novella The Skin Trade. The author confirmed that he will not write the script for the show, or serve as the showrunner, because he is too busy finishing his sixth Game of Thrones novel which fans have been eagerly awaiting for years. The Skin Trade centered on Willie Flambeaux, a collections agent who happens to be a werewolf, and his friend, Randi Wade, a private investigator, who discover a dark secret behind a series of grisly murders in their decaying industrial city. Here's what George R.R. Martin had to say about the new series on his official website.

"Thrones" Author's Werewolves Come To TV
Cinemax is shacking up with sibling HBO's boyfriend - "Game of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin - as Cinemax has reportedly ordered a script of Martin's 1980s werewolf noir novel "The Skin Trade".

Martin himself made the announcement over the weekend on his blog. The story follows a collections agent who happens to be a werewolf and his friend, a private investigator, as they discover a dark secret behind a series of grisly murders in their decaying city.

The story was originally penned for the fifth volume of Dark Harvest's annual horror anthology work "Night Vision". The project went on to win the World Fantasy Award and has since been adapted into comic form.

Mark B. Newbauer optioned the show rights and will executive produce the series. Martin met with a dozen writers to adapt the property with Kalinda Vazquez asked to pen the script. Vazquez, Martin, Vince Gerardis,...

Writers You Should Be Reading: Norman Partridge
Norman Partridge has been pounding out his unique brand of hard-boiled horror since the early 1990s. His short story collection Mr. Fox & Other Feral Tales and his debut novel Slippin' Into Darkness served as a one-two punch introducing Partridge's distinct take-no-prisoners style – a style he's continued to refine in the years since. Partridge found the perfect mix for his noir and horror influences in Dark Harvest, his 2006 novel that reaped a number of accolades, including both the Bram Stoker and International Horror Guild awards for achievement in long fiction. Harvest is an uncompromisingly dark, claustrophobic tale about a Midwestern town's bizarre, bloody Halloween night ritual, and became an...
