"Simple Revenge" is anything but simple. The plot twists come fast and furious, in this tale of set ups and murder. I found the acting to be good, and sharp editing kept the action moving at an acceptable pace. The intricate script has very little meaningless dialog, which maintains interest throughout. Not everything in the logic department will hold up to close scrutiny, and perhaps there are too many turns in the plot, but the movie is never dull. Some of the character swings from sympathetic to unsympathetic might be hard to swallow, but overall "Simple Revenge" has entertainment value, and even though the ending is controversial, this slick movie is worth seeking out. - MERK

While this story is heavy on twists, turns, surprises and plot, it is a bit weak on motivation.
The opening scene in the film is overly detailed considering how little these characters have to do with the main storyline. In fact, it made me feel as if I were watching two entirely separate films.
The main plot revolves around a woman named Alex, played by Holly Perkins. Alex is a career woman, on the bad side of 45, with dyed red hair that is way too thin for the style she is trying to wear.
Alex thought she was going to move into a top position at the firm, but at the last minute the old geezer, who apparently owns the company, has changed his mind. Instead, the top position goes to a woman named Ann.
Alex than wastes no time in seducing Ann's new hubby, Jim. Jim is so ugly I don't know how any woman could bring herself to marry him, or seduce him.
Just how Alex thinks seducing Ann's husband is going to aid her very much remains a mystery - it's part of the weak motive of the character - which we see throughout this movie.
The consequences of seducing one's boss's husband generally would be: getting yourself canned and without a good recommendation, and breaking up the boss's marriage - while the latter might give a vengeful person some satisfaction it wouldn't make up for the loss of one's well paying job, I wouldn't think.
This initial transgression, however, is just a warm-up for our gal, Alex. There's more, much more. There are several murders, more seductions, and even a hint at lesbianism.
Throughout, Alex remains cool as a cucumber and able to spin yarns to the police that would make many a criminal pea-green with envy, I'm sure.
The film would have been better, however, if they had simplified it a bit, as eventually it goes completely over the top with twists and turns.

"Simple Revenge" is a very good thriller. The plot is about Alex (Holly Perkins) who is about to get a promotion at her job until it's taken by Ann (Anne Hawthorne). Alex is very mad about this and decides to get revenge on her by seducing her husband (Andrew Garman). Ann finds this out and confronts her. The confrontation leads to an accidental death and now Alex has to cover up the body.
"Simple Revenge" has non-stop twists and turns. It's very unpredictable. The acting is top-notch for the genre and it's fast-paced.
If you're sick of the usual boring mystery\thrillers out there, rent this. You won't be disappointed.
