J.R.R. Tolkien fans awaiting the release of the New Hobbit movie, The Desolation of Smaug featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the titular character, a deadly dragon, received more exciting news about their favorite fantasy author. According to The L.A. Times, producer Peter Chernin (The Heat, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Irish writer David Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels) began work on a biopic telling the life story of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author. Reportedly, Gleeson continued work on a script that focuses on the South African-born, English-raised Tolkien’s early years serving in World War I and the impact the Great War made on his storytelling.

If you were looking at the upcoming slate of Hobbit films and thinking “that’s a sizeable amount of Tolkien material, but I am not satisfied with this ride ever ending,” the universe is throwing you just a little bone to tide you over until another facet of the Lotr series is probably announced. Hollywood is to capitalise on the current appetite for all things Jrr Tolkien with a biopic of the fantasy author of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, reports the La Times.

Tentatively titled simply Tolkien, the film will examine the writer's early academic career at Pembroke College, Oxford, as well as his struggles as a second lieutenant and later signals officer on the western front of the first world war. In particular, the screenplay by Ireland's David Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels) will show how these experiences informed Tolkien's creation of the high fantasy genre.

In celebration of country music’s top songwriters, the industry’s biggest stars stepped out for the 2013 Broadcast Music, Inc. Country Awards in Nashville on Tuesday (November 5).

Luke Bryan showed off his dapper smile, while Miranda Lambert showed off her slim figure and struck a pose with the night’s guest of honor Dean Dillon.

Other attendees included newcomer Kacey Musgraves and powerhouse trio The Band Perry. In addition, aspiring country singer/actress Lucy Hale made an appearance and is expected to be at tonight’s (November 6) Cma Awards.

There were quite a few winners last night, including Hunter Hayes taking home Song of the Year for “Wanted.”

After a night of exciting thrills on Wednesday (June 5), the 2013 Cmt Awards are winding down inside Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

Led by the adorable Kristen Bell and country hunk Jason Aldean, a number of big names including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellum took the stage for awesome performances.

In addition, this year's big winner is Carrie Underwood who scored the prize for Video of the Year. Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton took home the award for Male and Female Video of the Year, respectively.

The Cmt Music Awards were brimming with girl power Wednesday night as Country sweethearts Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert took home the ceremony's top prizes.

Carrie's hit Blown Away nabbed the Cmt Awards' biggest honor, Video of the Year, while Miranda accepted Female Video of the Year statue for Mama's Broken Heart (as well as Cmt Performance of the Year). Blake Shelton also earned a trophy for his latest single, Sure Be Cool if You Did, but was unable to join his wife for the festivities due to commitments in Los Angeles.

It’s going to be another amazing year for the Cmt Music Awards, as the competition is especially fierce this time around.

During the nominee announcement today (May 6) Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, and Luke Bryan all scored a total of four nods.

All three are up for Video of the Year, though they’ll have to defeat Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Little Big Town if they hope to win.

As for Cmt Performance of the Year, Miranda, Eric, and Luke will compete against Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith, and Rascal Flatts & Journey.

Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean will handle the hosting duties when the 2013 Cmt Music Awards air live on June 5th from Nashville, Tennessee.

Oscar nominated and Ifta winning filmmaker Juanita Wilson (The Door) recently returned from her first trip to the Toronto Film Festival where her feature debut, 'As If I Am Not There' screened in the Discovery section of the event.
