Dustin Lynch may be one of country music's fastest rising stars, but he's a fan of all types of music! The "Hell of a Night" singer recently chatted with toofab's Brittany Kyles while promoting his new single and the "Kick The Dust Up" tour with Luke Bryan, where he dished on some of his surprising musical inspirations. When it comes to country music, the 30-year-old singer grew up on the classics and drew a ton of inspiration from some of the industry's most well-respected stars. "It's um, gosh it's a tossup between George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and the band Alabama," Lynch says of his country music influences. "But you know I have other influences that came in. When I was 13 or 14 I discovered a band named Incubus. That was actually the first band I was in, we were covering Incubus and Hootie & the Blowfish. So you know those...

Dustin Lynch has some killer singing chops ... but the same can't be said about his fishing skills! The "Cowboys and Angels" singer recently opened up to toofab's Brittany Kyles about hitting the road with Luke Bryan for the country superstar's "Kick The Dust Up " tour. Even though Lynch's latest single, "Hell of a Night," is already a chart-topping track on country radio, Dustin says it all still feels pretty surreal. "It's still news for me," he says of his recent success. "I don't take hearin' my songs on the radio for granted. I still crank 'em up. I critically listen, I've gotta say that. I still listen loud and it feels amazing. This is something that, making music and being on the radio, is something that I've dreamed of since I was probably 4 or 5 years old to be honest. And to be doing it, at this level, and now being...

"Is it hot enough for ya?" Dustin Lynch asked the crowd packed into Nashville's 3rd and Lindsley nightclub in Nashville last week. And judging from all the cheering female fans, he wasn't just talking about the sweltering temperatures. The singer, whose sophomore album, Where It's At, hit stores Tuesday, admits he's turned up the heat in his new music. "Music's all about being sexy, " Lynch, 29, told People. "It's good to have sexy songs in your show. The girls love them!" Lynch, who is single, says the 15 songs on the new record are also more up-tempo than some of his previous work,...

J.R.R. Tolkien fans awaiting the release of the New Hobbit movie, The Desolation of Smaug featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the titular character, a deadly dragon, received more exciting news about their favorite fantasy author. According to The L.A. Times, producer Peter Chernin (The Heat, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Irish writer David Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels) began work on a biopic telling the life story of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author. Reportedly, Gleeson continued work on a script that focuses on the South African-born, English-raised Tolkien’s early years serving in World War I and the impact the Great War made on his storytelling.

If you were looking at the upcoming slate of Hobbit films and thinking “that’s a sizeable amount of Tolkien material, but I am not satisfied with this ride ever ending,” the universe is throwing you just a little bone to tide you over until another facet of the Lotr series is probably announced. Fox Searchlight and Cherin Entertainment are currently working on a J.R.R. Tolkien biopic that will span the author’s life and target the moments that led him to write “The Hobbit” in 1937 and begin “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy in 1954. The tentatively titled Tolkien, written by David Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels) focuses on the parts of his life that proved formative to creating Middle Earth, like his days at Pembroke College and as a soldier during World War I; the author, who was born in South Africa in 1892 and raised in England, was deeply affected by his experiences in the Great War...

We've only got two more Hobbit movies to look forward to, so it's about time someone figured out a way to continue to cash in on J.R.R. Tolkien's legacy. So how about a biopic? Variety reports Fox Searchlight and Chernin Entertainment are teaming up to create Tolkien, a drama that will reveal the life story of the author behind The Lord of the Rings. Said to be in the vein of the J.M. Barrie biopic Finding Neverland, Tolkien will include scenes from the writer's time in World War I while integrating elements of the fantasy novels he's known for. David Gleeson, who has previously penned the dramedy Cowboys and Angels, will write the screenplay. David Ready, who brought the project to Chernin Entertainment, will oversea its production for the company. Refresh your memory of Finding Neverland with its trailer below: Finding Neverland seems a smart source of ...

Fox Searchlight joins the race to tell the life story of the author behind The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings

Hollywood is to capitalise on the current appetite for all things Jrr Tolkien with a biopic of the fantasy author of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, reports the La Times.
Tentatively titled simply Tolkien, the film will examine the writer's early academic career at Pembroke College, Oxford, as well as his struggles as a second lieutenant and later signals officer on the western front of the first world war. In particular, the screenplay by Ireland's David Gleeson (Cowboys and Angels) will show how these experiences informed Tolkien's creation of the high fantasy genre.

While the products of his imagination are busy fuelling the second of two massive movie trilogies thanks to Peter Jackson’s Hobbit films, what of Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien himself? Yes, we’re aware he died in 1973 thanks, but the man behind Middle-earth has been a constant source of fascination for fans and biographers alike. Yet a definitive biopic about the man has somehow always slipped from filmmakers’ grasp. Fox Searchlight is looking to change all that with a new project. The company, along with Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment (the sooner they start an ice-cream subsidiary, the happier our pun-brains will be) has Tolkien fan (and Cowboys And Angels writer / director) David Gleeson already at work on a script that will look at the author’s life, focusing largely on his studies at Oxford and his time in World War I.His experiences in the Great War, including the loss of many friends,...

We've been following Cowboys and Aliens since Jon Favreau and Robert Downey, Jr., signed on last year, so we're duty bound to follow this motherfucker through, though Rdj has dropped from the project to pursue Sherlock Holmes 2.
Downey's replacement? Looks quite possible that it will be Daniel Craig, who is currently in talks to join the project (pending scheduling issues with Bond 23.
So there you go, folks. Daniel Craig will play an 19th century American cowboy. Who will battle aliens that will land in Arizona and try to enslave the population, which I believe will mean that both the cowboys and Native Americans will end up teaming together to defeat the aliens. In the 19th century. Led by a American cowboy played by a Brit. Fucking carpetbagger.

First the Spider-Man reboot, and now this: According to the La Times's Steven Zeitchik (that sister-fucking cumguzzling Hillbilly felcher -- sorry, I just watched the "Better off Ted" Video), Robert Downey, Jr. is dropping out of Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens, which is set to begin filming in July. Now the movie -- based on a serialized graphic novel about aliens who land in Arizona in the mid-19th century and attempt to enslave the population -- will have to find a new leading man, assuming that Favreau himself continues with the project without his action-hero muse.
The reason? Scheduling conflicts. The conflict? According to EW, it's a Sherlock Holmes sequel.
