Anecdotes
One of about five theatrical feature film collaborations of actress Karen Black and actor-writer-director Henry Jaglom. They both appeared in acting roles in both Easy Rider (1969) and Vas-y, fonce (1971) whilst Black appeared in three Jaglom written and directed pictures: Irene in Time (2009), Hollywood Dreams (2006) and Can She Bake a Cherry Pie? (1983). They both also appear in the documentaries Who Is Henry Jaglom? (1995) and Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex, Drugs and Rock 'N' Roll Generation Saved Hollywood (2003).

Decent Documentary

Who Is Henry Jaglom? (1997)

Entertaining documentary that tries to explain to people who filmmaker Henry Jaglom is and what motivates him. I'm really not overly familiar with the director's work, which is why I wanted to check this documentary out and while it did make me more interested in checking out his films, I'd be lying if the documentary is anything exceptional. Again, it's certainly entertaining but at the same time I'm really not sure how much we actually learn about the subject.

We get interviews with the man himself as well as the likes of Peter Bogdanovich, Dennis Hopper and others who comment on his working style. There's a nice portion of the 53 minute running time devoted to Jaglom's relationship with Orson Welles and how it ended on a rather sour note. Clips from several of his movies are shown and we also get some clips of his fans commenting on his work as well as one "fan" who questions his lack of directing style.
