Is it really a spoiler to call this the Shannon Tweed Skinemax version of 'Jagged Edge?' And just like the real 'Jagged Edge' the audience has already figured out whom the real killer is. We're just waiting for the heroine to catch up.
The original title 'Night Moves' was for some reason replaced with the redundant 'Forbidden Sins.' Perhaps 'A Shocking Surprise' or 'Violent Force' or 'Eternity Forever' or 'Criminal Conspiracy' or 'Maximum Extreme' would have been better Skinemax titles? Anyhow... David Mulholland is the wealthy owner of the Californian (Canadian) "Night Moves" (hence the original title) exotic dancer gentlemen's club (strip bar) arrested for killing one of his employees during rough sex.
Mulholland professes his innocence and blames the murder on a serial silicone killer. He hires the lead detective's ex wife as his high profile defense attorney. She's smart, she's sexy, she's sophisticated, she's Shannon Tweed.
Predictably the plot of 'Jagged Edge' ensues with more silicone boobs and sex than the original. And thankfully NO sex scenes between Glenn Close and Jeff Bridges! As far as Shannon Tweed films go this is actually one of the better ones. Only brief nudity by Tweed herself and only sexy courtroom suits, but at least the camera stays in focus and scenes of cheat actors forgetting their lines have been edited out. Two things the 'Night Eyes' series cannot claim.
Shannon Tweed fans should give it a look but don't expect too much.

Check out Amy Lindsay for her erotic performance in this otherwise forgettable film. She is fresh faced and innocent looking and its a great pleasure to see her disrobe on several occasions.
As for Shannon Tweed, well she looks like a turkey that was plucked years ago and how she gets parts in so many films is beyond me.
But if you get to see an uncut version of this film you should not be totally disappointed.

High-profile lawyer falls for her client, a suspect in a kinky murder case, but is he innocent or guilty? Could she be in danger of becoming the next victim or is it all a conspiracy? As you can see, "Forbidden Sins" is the umpteenth variation on the familiar "Jagged Edge" / "Body Of Evidence" formula and unfortunately this film is not made with enough energy or style to set itself apart from the pack, though it must be said that it is more explicit than most mainstream releases in this genre. Shannon Tweed herself has only one sex scene, but the woman is still in such fantastic shape that I'll push the rating of the film to a probably undeserved ** just for her.
In the pile of VHS tapes once found in a family member's bedroom, 'Forbidden Sins' is quite good in a lot areas outside of the obvious.
Amy Lindsay is an acceptable actress in parts, but she lacks the necessary subtlety and competence to deceive convincingly. Timothy Vahle is hilarious and provides the best moments of the movie, but also does Corbin Timbrook who feels very experienced and delivers his lines well. Myles O'Brien provides a sense of heroicness and decency to counterbalance the evil.
The overall screenplay and some interesting camera work in certain scenes elevate the movie, and overall it's better than your average late night softcore affair.

I think this movie deserves extra points for its taste and style. The cinematography is great, actors are all beautiful, and the homes that the people lives in are just gorgeous.
I don't know who MRG Entertainment is, but the production is flawless in this movie. It's bit of drama with intrigue for mature audience, but everything is done very professionally. Shannon Tweed is convincing as a professional lawyer (maybe with too much glam but who cares).
I can't give this movie a low rating, because everything is done so well. I'm not sure if this can just be categorized as soft porn because the drama part of it stands on its own.
The movie was fab, and is highly recommended for viewing.
