Annoyingly average, fatally unfocused ............

Being a big fan of J.S. Cardone's film "Blue Day Black Night", I was anticipating something along those lines with "A Climate For Killing". Unfortunately the latter film is annoyingly average. It starts out with a decapitation murder, but then bogs down for the next hour and a half. Characters that have no bearing on the outcome are introduced, and then disappear forever. These unnecessary dead ends, and almost constant flashbacks accompanied by explanations leave the movie with zero suspense. The various relationships really never feel genuine, and the bad guy doesn't appear until just before the credits roll. "A Climate For Killing" is a fatally unfocused film. - MERK

aka ' A Row of Crows' in the uk

I really enjoy this film as its the kind of film I like where the pieces are gradually put together to reveal the answers but most of all I love the sound of the atmospheric music which is used and it always makes me mad when some twit of a continuity announcer talks over the end credits and the great music whenever it is shown on tv, which is an increasing tendency these days and has me spitting blood many a time. It should be banned and subject to a hefty fine every time its done. I feel better now I've got that off my chest:-)

not so great

I live in Yuma, Arizona, where much of the movie was filmed. It was a thrill to have a production here, and the premier packed in a crowd (including myself) at an older downtown theater. A friend had a role as an extra, and enjoyed the experience. But the first scene contained unnecessary violence, and later came a very brief but equally unnecessary graphic sex episode. Although several notable locals including a former county sheriff had bit parts, it was very quiet after the premier showing. I think most people were embarrassed. That's what we get for living in a backwater, fit for the straight-to-video market. The title montage was well done, with the dramatic approach of a summer dust storm that captured local flavor.

A good "who done it film".

This film is a very good suspense story. The acting was excellent, especially John Beck and Doyle McCurley.

A great who done it!

I saw this on a movie channel on one of those days that nothing else was on t.v. I was really surprised! This a great who done it! Even after I saw it the first time, and knew how it ended, I still enjoy it.

Though none of the people are marquee property, the acting is top notch! Part of the problem is the movie was billed as a love story between Mia Sara, and Steven Bauer. So, I guess people walked of the theater disappointed, so that's why it didn't go anywhere.

If you like a good murder mystery, give this one a chance!

A slow-burner, excellent movie

If only all B-movies were this good, we'd all be insomniacs. This is a movie that takes its own sweet time, instead of rushing it moves with a measured grace through its scenes. There's nothing flash, nothing fancy, just people being people. Cinematic clichés, like the Sheriff's daughter's hick dumb bully former husband, are nodded to but not allowed to dominate proceedings. It's like that character in particular is bought in just as if to illustrate to the viewer that while this was a movie well aware of what was expected of it, it damn well wasn't going to go there. Different, individual, this is a class act all the way through.

Neither whodunit nor thriller..

The whodunit side is completely vain, because when the movie comes to its end ,we've forgotten what, why and when all these conventional events happened.A man marries a much younger girl, he is rich, both are killed.Ah and there are two cops:first they sit glaring at each other but afterward....well you get the picture. And the older cop has a daughter, she's lovely and she falls for ...well you know the score.

Climate for choosing something else if you are in search of originality.
