It's filmed horribly. Bad camera angles, laughable acting but the subject matter is so serious that it almost becomes a well intended PSA.
It's is absolutely worth a watch just for the dialog on suspicion on the subject.
A necessary film. But not going to win any awards. There are many failed scenes that could have been more powerful, and missed opportunities to streamline the story to be more memorable and effective.
Having said that I think this would be a very good film for new parents, or even victims of abuse or even perpetrators in prison.
Furthermore I think the film and acting is so poorly done is because no body else had the guts to cover the subject.

I realize this is an older movie, but the acting was insincere, almost laughable, especially Brad Davis' acting, embarrassingly so. Jill clayburgh wasn't wonderful either; she and Davis were so over the top melodramatic. The directing was very poorly done. The entire production including acting, lighting, and set dressing was very low budget. The best acting in the movie was done by little 4 year old Joseph Mazzello.
The sordid and serious subject matter deserved a better telling of this true story. Perhaps this entire story should be updated and told again in a better production with a better director and better actors.

This was one of the best lifetime movies I've ever seen. It was kind of tough to watch, though. I was really impressed with the acting of the kids. I wondered if they understood what they were talking about. At the end of the movie they had a were they are now thing, so I'm guessing it was a true story, which makes it extremely disturbing.
Surprised to find this old Lifetime true story movie on Netflix in 2024 about the childcare center abuses in the 80s in Florida.
Always found their true crime movies a good way to get the picture since the news articles are always so piecemeal. No acts are shown but the young child actors tell what happened to them explicitly. The child psychologists are played by Jill Clayburgh and Brad Davis and their POV is shown.
Some familiar faces as the parents of abused kids. Reading up about what happened the guys is still in prison but expounds doubts about the case against him.
Interesting docudrama style.

Omg this was so heartbreaking and raw and real. Children are so trusting in untrustworthy adults. Bc of this movie I know I'm at an older age of 32 years old. But thank god I got a degree in criminal justice when I was younger. I'm think about going back and going into social work to help children.

- AnecdotesThe movie is based on the nonfiction book "Unspeakable Acts" by Jan Hollingsworth, police reports, court documents, interviews, and news reports. The names of the children and their parents in the movie were changed out of respect to the victims.
- GaffesThe cordless phone base on the table next to the tennis court isn't plugged into anything.
