MTV’s Liquid Television available to watch for free
Joseph Baxter Dec 5, 2017

The entire run of the 1990s’ definitive animation showcase, Liquid Television, is now available to watch for free...

Those who come from a generation that can elegiacally recall the days when the programming line-up of MTV (Music Television) not only consisted of music videos, but thought-provoking cutting edge original programing, will likely remember late-night viewings of the cable channel’s bellwether mixed-media showcase, Liquid Television. While it’s not coming back anytime soon, a nostalgic boon has just arrived, making the show’s entire run available to stream.

Indeed, Liquid Television was the crucial 1990s platform responsible for the emergence of would-be MTV hit series Beavis And Butt-Head, along with the bizarre, ultraviolent and titillating assassin series Æon Flux, which, in 2005, would be adapted as a movie starring Charlize Theron. Now, the series has been made available for consumption in its originally-aired form, thanks to the folks at Internet Archive,...

Beavis & Butt-Head: The Complete Collection Hits Blu-ray February
New York – Attention fartknockers! Creator Mike Judge’s beloved slackers are back in Beavis And Butt-head: The Complete Collection, coming to DVD February 14, 2017. When Beavis and Butt-Head first appeared on MTV more than a decade ago, critics dismissed them as brainless couch potatoes who did nothing but watch TV and make lewd jokes about bodily functions. Today we know they were ahead of their time. Beavis and Butt-Head’s unique idiocy profoundly changed television, movies, pop culture and the world.

Now, America’s favorite culture critics are back in this comprehensive new collection to tell us all exactly what sucks. Housing everything in one set for the first time ever, Beavis And Butt-head: The Complete Collection includes all four volumes of the acclaimed television series—including the boys’ triumphant return in 2011—as well as the Special Collector’s Edition of the fan-favorite movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

"Beavis and Butt-Head" Live
Sneak Peek some hideously realistic model images of the MTV cartoon characters "Beavis and Butt-Head":

The models were created by SFX artist Kevin Kirkpatrick ("Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides").

Kirkpatrick is an avid fan of the cartoon duo, that returned to MTV's new "Beavis and Butt-head"series.

Creator Mike Judge ("King Of The Hill") continues as the voice of both title characters.

Judge's short film "Frog Baseball" was the first appearance of "Beavis and Butt-Head" with MTV signing Judge to turn the concept into a series airing March 1993 to November 1997.

With its 'underground comix' sensibility, the show focused on two socially inept rock/metal-loving teenagers 'Beavis' and 'Butt-Head', who live in the town of 'Highland', Texas. They have no adult supervision at home, are woefully undereducated and arguably dim-witted.

They attend high school, where their teachers are often at a loss as to how to deal with them,...

'Beavis and Butt-head': 14 Great Moments to Welcome Them Back (Video)
Mike Judge
Uh, huh huh huh … "Beavis and Butt-head" are, like, returning tonight on MTV. The slacker duo from Highland, Texas left the MTV airwaves in 1997, meaning it's been 14 years since we last saw them set something on fire. In honor of their return, here are 14 memorable "Beavis and Butt-head" moments -- one for each year we were left without them. 1. "Frog Baseball" And they were born. This September 1992 animated short introduced us to Mike Judge's destructive duo, who used an unsuspecting frog as the "ball" in their twisted...

Liquid Television (1991)
MTV Opens Online Archive of ‘Liquid Television’ Shorts
Liquid Television (1991)
I'm not sure how long this has been online, but judging by the reaction I see it getting on Twitter today, either it hasn't been long or no one realized what MTV had done. But for those who spent late nights with MTV in the early '90s, when the channel celebrated the unusual corners of pop culture as well as the fat, chewy center, this is going to be one hell of a trip. And for younger animation fans that haven't had a chance to experience some of these shorts, it's a goldmine. Liquid Television was a ground-breaking animation anthology that featured some very early computer animation and very strange and funny shorts by noted animators and designers such as Charles Burns, Richard Sala, David Daniels, and Bill Plympton. It ran from 1991 to 1994; some of the included shorts were new, and others, like Mike Judge's Frog Baseball (the...

Comic-Con 2011: Beavis and Butthead Coverage and Panel
Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none We all love King of the Hill, Office Space, Idiocracy and even Extract, and we're sure the people who actually watched The Goode Family dug it, but for our money, Mike Judge's finest creation will always remain Beavis & Butthead.

Thankfully, at long last, our two favorite imbeciles are coming back to MTV with a new series debuting this year. We made sure we had bangarang seat for the Beavis & Butthead panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 so we could see footage from the show and hear Judge himself talk about his plans. Here's what we learned:

The panel was moderated by none other than Johnny Knoxville, who shared bottles of Miller Genuine Draft with Judge. Knoxville is an admittedly lousy moderator. Beavis & Butthead started as an animated short that Judge did while going to school to become a math teacher and working as a musician.

Who knew that Justin Bieber was a fan of the iconic '90s MTV cartoon "Beavis and Butt-Head"? Well, fans learned of his fascination with the show on Wednesday, when the star tweeted his excitement for the cartoon's return to TV when he attended the MTV up-front presentation in New York City. Just hours later, he attended the NYC screening for his 3-D film, "Never Say Never."

So, when MTV News met up with the teen star at the premiere, we wanted to know which character is his favorite, Beavis or Butt-Head. "I am [a fan]. I'm excited for the return," he said. "I like both of them. I just like the show in general."

The Bieber/ "Beavis and Butthead" buzz began earlier...

Beavis and Butthead Return to TV This Summer
Back in July, it was confirmed that Mike Judge (Idiocracy, Office Space, "King of the Hill") was working on thirty new episodes of "Beavis and Butthead" for MTV. Now, during an announcement of its upcoming shows, the network has revealed that the episodes will begin airing on MTV this summer. The new series will keep the characters in high-school and its minimalist animated style, but will update the music videos. Judge will return to voice both leads. "Beavis and Butthead" premiered in 1993 as an animated short called "Frog Baseball," which aired on MTV's "Liquid Television." The basic plotline revolved around two shorts-wearing, spectacularly immature teenage pals whose banter was delivered against the backbeat of their constant idiotic laughter.

Beavis and Butthead Are Coming Back To TV? “Uh, Hehe Cool”
EW reports that straight out of the MTV upfront presentation in New York, Tim Stack reports that the network just announced that Beavis & Butt-Head will indeed make its triumphant return to the network. The announcement confirms previous online reports, some from creator Mike Judge himself, that MTV was working on a return of the hit series.

I am super pumped about this no doubt. Judge’s short film Frog Baseball was the first appearance of Beavis and Butt-head, and cable channel MTV signed Judge to turn the concept into a series. Beavis and Butt-head aired from March 8, 1993 to November 28, 1997. The series has retained a cult following ever since.

The show centers on two socially inept rock/metal-loving teenage boys, Beavis and Butt-head (both voiced by Judge), who live in the town of Highland, Texas. They seem to have no adult supervision at home, are woefully undereducated, and are arguably quite dim-witted.

Justin Bieber Tweets The Return Of MTV's 'Beavis And Butt-Head'
'Skins' cast announces show's comeback at MTV upfront presentation.

By Kyle Anderson

Beavis and Butt-Head

After several months of whispers and rumors (and a cameo in MTV Films' "Jackass 3D"), it appears as though America's two favorite animated idiots will be returning to your television screen. In the channel's upfront presentation Wednesday (February 2), the cast of MTV's "Skins" announced that "Beavis and Butt-head" would be coming back this summer.

"Solid day in NYC," Canadian pop sensation and "Never Say Never" star Justin Bieber tweeted Wednesday. "Played hoops and just went to the MTV Upfronts...Beavis and Butthead are coming back!!!"

Ironically, Bieber hadn't even been born yet when MTV viewers first got a glimpse of the two bored high school students. Created by Mike Judge (who would later go on to produce "King of the Hill" and direct cult-classic films like "Office Space" and "Idiocracy"), Beavis and Butt-head...

‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ Returning to MTV
Score! The New York Post is reporting that MTV has decided to move forward with new episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head. Rumors surfaced last week that series creator Mike Judge was outlining a new batch of episodes in hopes that the network would pick them up and now it’s official – the perpetually adolescent duo will return.

Beavis and Butt-Head first appeared in Judge’s short animated film Frog Baseball which was shown on MTV’s Liquid Television. The network then ordered a full series based on the misadventures of the slacker protagonists. Beavis and Butt-Head premiered in 1993 and its crude humor and animation style made it as successful as it was controversial.

The show’s popularity led to the feature film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996. Although MTV would ultimately…

Beavis and Butthead Confirmed to Return to MTV
About a week ago, there was a rumor that Mike Judge (Idiocracy, Office Space, "King of the Hill") was working on thirty new episodes of "Beavis and Butthead" for MTV. That news has just been confirmed by the network. The new series would keep the characters in high-school, but would update the music videos so that the duo would make fun of such artists as Lady Gaga. The show's minimalist animated style is also expected to remain intact. "Beavis and Butt-head," which premiered in 1993, began as an animated short called "Frog Baseball," which aired on MTV's "Liquid Television." The basic plotline revolved around two shorts-wearing, spectacularly immature teenage pals whose banter was delivered against the backbeat of their constant idiotic laughter. Judge will also return to voice both characters. No word on when the new episodes will begin airing.

Mike Judge
A Morning Ramble Through the Idiocracy
Mike Judge
I remember the first time I saw Mike Judge's Frog Baseball sometime back in the 90s. The idea of two stoner/metalheads laughing about playing baseball with frogs as the ball might seem a bit tame in today's extreme-animation world, but sandwiched between all the Liquid Television fluff, it stood out as completely amazing and memorable. A few years later after Beavis and Butt-head had already run its course, some guy on my soccer team was telling me about a movie he'd seen in the theatre that week called Office Space. I remember it so clearly because of his reserved-yet-gushing assessment that he may have (surprisingly) just seen one of the greatest movies of all time, and I like to think time proved him right. In my opinion there is no denying that Mike Judge is a man of vision. Which...
