Anecdotes
Elmore Silk's house stood at what is now 40 Ninth Street, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. When asking for a ride to this location, Julius asks the driver if they are going to New Waterford, which is a neighboring town to Glace Bay. In the movie, the house has the civic number 88 on the outside, it is unclear if the numbers were changed by the filmmakers for shooting, or if the civic numbers in the area have been updated since the movie was filmed. The structure was actually a duplex, Elmore's half has since been demolished, but as of 2012 the other half (38 Ninth St) still stands and appears to be occupied. Update: 38 Ninth St (the other half of Elmore's house) was demolished sometime between 2012 & 2024. As of 2024 both properties are now a vacant lot.

Gaffes
When departing New York City, Julius stops to refuel the silver Ford. The attendant is positioned as if the fuel door is behind the rear license plate, however the viewer can clearly see the fuel door is on the rear passenger side of the car.

Bow wow.

You would think that a movie with Leon Redbone, Tom Waits, Dr. John, and David Johannsen is going to be one of the best films you've ever seen, right? God, how I looked forward to this. When I finally got to see it, it was like I got kicked in the guts.

Boring, moody, contrived, over stylized, and PRETENTIOUS. The main character is a total dick! There's nothing nice or cool here. It made me want to brush my teeth! Why Leon Redbone, Tom Waits, Dr. John, and David Johannsen allowed themselves to appear in this dog is beyond me.

You know what? Go buy the Johnny Winter album "Third Degree." There are some cool duets between Johnny and Dr. John. If you're a fan of the genre you'll love it, I promise. If you love that album you'll hate this movie.
