Netflix has opened an office in Italy and unveiled a huge slate of scripted and unscripted series and films from many of the country’s biggest producers, with Co-CEO Reed Hastings detailing the streamer’s roots in the nation.

Located in the heart of Rome, the office will house around 70 staff and adds to Netflix’s suite of European bases, which already includes the UK, France, Spain and, most recently, Poland, among others. Netflix said the new base cements a “long-term commitment” to Italy and its creative community.

Netflix launched the office and slate today at an event in Italy’s capital city, where a marquee recalling the facades of 1970s Italian movie theaters was unveiled in the iconic Trevi Fountain Square.

Sasha Obama takes her education seriously!

Social media was quick to point out on Tuesday that President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's 15-year-old daughter was missing as her father gave his emotional farewell speech, although her sister, 18-year-old Malia, was present.

But it turns out Sasha had a good excuse for missing the monumental moment. CBS News correspondent Mark Knoller tweeted that Sasha stayed back in Washington, D.C. because she had an exam at school on Wednesday morning.

Family was clearly on President Obama's mind during his speech, when he thanked his two daughters for how they've handled growing up "under the strangest of circumstances" and in the public eye.

It seems Malia and Sasha Obama weren't up for another helping of their dad's Thanksgiving humor.

The first daughters were noticeably absent at President Obama's final turkey pardon at the White House on Wednesday, with their cousins, Austin and Aaron Robinson, standing in for them.

"Thanksgiving is a family holiday as much as a national one, so for the past seven years, I've established another tradition: embarrassing my daughters with a corny-copia of dad jokes about turkeys," Obama explained. At 18 and 15 years old, Malia and Sasha Obama have already started dating -- but their father, President Barack Obama, is surprisingly "pretty relaxed about it."

The commander-in-chief made an appearance on Raleigh, North Carolina, radio station Wdcg, where he revealed that his two daughters have started "ditching" family dinners for dates, but said he's not too worried about their love lives.

"The truth is, I'm pretty relaxed about it for two reasons. One is Michelle [Obama] -- she's such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look or not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence."
