I watched "...Gdziekolwiek jestes, panie prezydencie..." (...Wherever you are, Mr. President...) with great interest, even though I am not that much interested in the character of Stefan Starzynski or the September 1939 campaign. For me, Poland and maybe the entire West were at that point too weak to win against Nazi Germany. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching the film. The movie is based on facts, but alongside authentic, historical figures, fictional ones also appear. The film's action takes place in Warsaw in September 1939. The director used archival materials: Polish, German, and American. The picture is black and white, so the combination with archival materials gives a sense of great authenticity. For me it was like a magical journey back to that time, as if I was a witness to the events. To this we must also add the wonderful performance of Tadeusz Lomnicki.
