30s equivalent of a video promo

Henry Hall took over the BBC Dance Orchestra from Jack Payne.For a time it was the most popular dance band of the 1930's.His band is stacked full with accomplished musicians and he played some of the most popular dance band music of his era.Having said that i do not think that his band is as memorable as that of say Ambrose or Lew Stone or Jack Hylton.However his songs are always very catchy,as is typified by the title tune.There really isn't much of a plot.Mainly showing how people are affected when they turn on the radio and hear his music.The other minor part of the plot concerns the celebration of his birthday,taking orphans out to the countryside for the day and managing to get lost.The main focus throughout its 70 minutes is music.So as they sing at the end "heres to the next time".If it comes your way i am sure you will enjoy it.

The opening titles of Music Hath Charms quote the whole sentence from which the words are taken. This comes from Congreve's great Restoration tragedy The Mourning Bride which the film however & amusingly misspells as The Morning Bride.
