Reckoning

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews about this series. It might not be "True Detectives" but its definitely holding its own. Each episode WILL leave you wanting more, which is a pretty good indicator of good TV in my book. Every time you're SURE you have it figured out, here comes another curve ball. The unknown/unfamiliar cast does a great job. Who doesn't have love for "Black Jack Rackam of Black Sails", "Sam Merlot of True Blood" and "Daniel Holden of Rectify"? Don't let other peoples negative opinions sway you from at least trying this series and forming your OWN opinion.

A lifeless thriller/drama centered around the lives of generally unlikable characters. The acting is pretty good, but the characters lack depth, I didn't feel compelled to care about any of them. The storyline is slow and boring, the detective work is nonexistent and its endlessly predictable.

It's one of the few shows I've seen in which there's not a single character who is likable at the show's end. I kept watching because I thought they'd throw the big curve and blow me away with who the killer really was. But N-o-o-o-o-o! I had it figured in the first episode and nothing they did changed my mind. It had its moments, but it also had too much cardboard language and cheesy acting when you least expected it. And the ending was a huge downer.

I really binged this mini series. I found the characters interesting as well as the plot. However, I must say that it left too many loose ends to be solved, as many of the former reviews are saying. I do like a thriller, in which I wonder by the end, what will happen next. But in this case, I was left with too many questions. This is why, I give it 7 instead of 8.

I have never, and I do mean NEVER, watch a series or movie where I didn't like a single character...until now. I kept watching hoping it would get better or a stray character might wander into the plot that would not be badly written or cliched. Extremely disappointed!
