Yeah, some of the acting in this film is certainly not going to win any awards, but it's really not that bad at all. I've seen much worse from A list actors (I'm looking at you everyone in Killing of a Sacred Deer). And honestly, for an indie movie, it's easily on par with many I've seen.
Visually the film is very good. There are some nice shots, solid practical effects, and good locations. The story isn't revolutionary but I did appreciate the few twists, even though the ending left a little to be desired.
Overall I've seen much worse and this one is worth a watch for horror junkies.

I agree with some of the reviewers that this movie was actually better than expected. I get the acting is not on par with other movies but we're not talking about A-listers here. There was substance with some nice twists and the story, although not completely original, was still entertaining. Coming from an avid horror cinephile, there's far worse out there. This one's worth your time.
Most Canadian horror movies are extremely predictable and are done in the genre of a typical teen scream of the US, no matter how the script is authored. I recently watched American Hangman (ironically a Canadian thriller / horror movie) with great anticipation and was disappointed by the predictable, moronic stupidity of the whole thing. This one is, I'll admit, pretty darn predictable in typical fashion however, it was done in a way that was fun to watch. I liken it to Tusk although it was absolutely nothing like it. Tusk was absurdly stupid but oddly, one cannot look away and it sticks in your craw afterward. You want to watch it again..and again. Just in case you missed something even though you know how it ends. If you like horror movies and you enjoy twists and turns, albeit rather extremely predictable yet the whole thing will stick with you afterward, definitely check this one out. The story line is one that has been done before, albeit to different conclusions but once past that aspect it was directed and produced in such a way that it's worth seeing.
I bought this DVD a couple days ago. And i really didn't expect much until i watched it. It was a lot better than my expectations. It does have originality and a dark setting compared to most horror movies that circles along the satanic cult type setting.
I think the acting was good perhaps the writing was off or directing. The story was good so I'm going to point toward the writing which is needed to develop the characters right. The actors tried with what they had. I'd recommend no problem to a B movie fan like myself. One thing I am getting sick of is the "not a happy ending" BS. Someone started that as a new twist about a decade ago and now there is no such thing as a happy ending anymore. Which makes it actually depressing in the end. A bad societal norms that has come along if that makes sense.
Overall B+ for my B movie love

- AnecdotesThe song that plays during the credits at the end of the movie is called, "Closer To The Fire" by Steph Copeland and featuring Tara Watts.
- GaffesThomas got his own scripture wrong, saying Abaddon is described in the Book of Revelations--it should be "Revelation" singular.
