Fear the Walking Dead: Passage

The 2nd webseries to Fear the Walking Dead, this series has really no connection to Fear the Walking Dead, nor does it have anything in this series that warrants any kind of existence. Idk the 2 characters were okay, not much exposition or character development, just a character who meets another who needs some help getting somewhere safe. Of course they throw a character in there that acts as the villain with little to no reason other than "we don't have resources to save you". But yeah, the ending ends hopeful, with some interesting scenes sprinkled throughout, but for the life of me I'm trying to understand the reason for its existence. Maybe because its set in the same area as the staple show does, but with little to no context as to what makes this show connected to Fear the Walking Dead, I just didn't see the point.

Fear The Walking Dead: Passage the characters couldn't proof themselves in (15 minute) but i still find them ok to fit the original show, unfortunately Colton (Michael Mosley) was supposed to be in season three of (FTWD) but because of some circumstances they couldn't add him up, well they can add the two other characters for future but i couldn't find them interesting and worthy, recommended for (FTWD) fans it's good for what it is, 5.5/10⭐

Oddly enough, t hen I had actually never heard about the 2016-2017 Webisodes of "Fear the Walking Dead" titled "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" before now in 2023, as I happened to come across it by random chance on YouTube. Needless to say that with my love of all things zombie and "The Walking Dead" franchise in general, of course I had to sit down and watch these 16 short webisodes.

The storyline and plot in "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" is pretty straightforward. The audience is tossed into the action right away, and there isn't a bunch of fillers, dialogue or setup for the webisodes to sit through. Nay, this was straight to the action, pure and simple. And, of course, with each webisode running for less than a minute each, then there is not really room or leniency for fillers and such. I found the storyline in "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" to be enjoyable.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage". But with a very small cast ensemble, I will say that they had some good talents to portray the characters. I was especially impressed with actress Mishel Prada.

Something that was missing from "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" was more zombie action. Sure, you have some, but this was essentially a short story about Gabi's reunion with Colton and of her coming to terms with the dystopian world filled with ravenous zombies that she now lives in.

If you enjoy "The Walking Dead", or any of the numerous spin-offs, then you will also enjoy "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" for what it is; a short running tale.

My rating of "Fear the Walking Dead: Passage" lands on a six out of ten stars.
