Selfridges: Then and Now

History of the department store and its founder has a bit of "Up with Britain" aspect but is overall an entertaining miniature introduction to a bit of history -department store division.

Only failing might be the fetichism concerning Masters of the Universe which just a decade later seems archaic given the valuable and necessary research into under-appreciated minorities and segments of society. As an American I also noticed the adoration of USA culture that so oddly has permeated English peeks across the pond, whether it be British self-appointed expertise about blues, jazz, Hollywood movies, etc. At least here the subject is a London institution, after all.
