Santa Clarita Diet

This is an amazingly hilarious show!! Very upset it's being cancelled. Makes me want to cancel Netflix subscription

It's been a while since I really enjoyed a comedy/horror series, a genre that works well if done right. Santa Clara Diet is that kind of show, easy-to-watch, funny and refreshing, and we a decent amount of gore. Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant had a good chemistry between them, they looked like a lovely and amorous couple, with their issues obviously, in this case Drew Barrymore's hunger for fresh human meat. It's the kind of series you just binge watch, it took me only a week to watch all episodes. Good storytelling, interesting plots and characters, it had it all. The gore was well made which was also a bonus. Totally deserves its high ratings.

I just watched Santa Clarita Diet with my brother and it had us both laughing out loud. It was freaking hilarious. It stars Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore as Joel and Shiela, married realtors who live in Santa Clarita raising their teenage daughter. Shiela wakes up one dead feeling strange and throws up. She also has no heartbeat. She's a zombie. Not like the ones you usually see in movies or shows, she looks and feels as good as she ever has. The problem is that she has to eat people to survive though. So they try to find the worst kind of people to kill for Shiela to eat. What follows is a lot of funny and sometimes dark moments.

Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) are a suburban real estate agent couple in Santa Clarita, California with teenage daughter Abby (Liv Hewson). They are keeping up with the Joneses until Sheila turns into a zombie and starts eating the Joneses. Neighbor Eric Bemis (Skyler Gisondo) has a crush on Abby and is full of zombie knowledge. There are clams, spider-balls, and Serbians.

I really like this show and its sarcastic sense of humor. I love this family. I love the characters. Olyphant and Barrymore have an enjoyable chemistry. I like the zombie concept and its ridiculous side. It's a fun show. Netflix cancelled after three seasons. We will never know if this was popular but it is good.

For anyone who's followed the show for the past 3 seasons, I do not need to even explain why this show is way too good to be cancelled at this point. Meanwhile, other shows with not even half the talent and script continue on air. I hope this decision gets reconsidered, the show and it's cast as well as fans deserve better than this. I am thouroughly dissapointed.
