Chris Cuomo made an on-air apology to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday night (August 6) after getting into an online argument with the Democratic Congresswoman over a deepfake video. Earlier in the day, Cuomo fell for a spoof A.I. video, which saw the US representative for New York’s 14th congressional district calling out Sydney Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle jeans commercial on the floor of Congress. “Sydney Sweeney looks like an Aryan goddess,” the fake Ocasio-Cortez says in the video. “And the American Eagle campaign is blatant Nazi propaganda.” She also uses terms like “sultry little temptress,” “Canadian tuxedo,” and “bouncy little fun bags.” While most recognized the video as blatantly fake, Cuomo took it seriously, retweeting the clip on his X account and writing, “Nothing about Hamas or people burning jews cars…but Sweeney jeans ad? Deserved time on floor of congress? What happened to this party? Fight for small business…...

Warner Bros. Discovery Swings to Q2 Profit, Boosted by HBO Max Expansion, ‘Minecraft’
Image
The story of Warner Bros. Discovery is quickly becoming a tale of two companies — and that’s a narrative executives would really like Wall Street to hear.

The company behind the Warner Bros. studio, the HBO Max streaming service and cable networks including CNN and HGTV saw improving results for its streaming operations and production studios, even as conditions for its traditional TV networks appeared to worsen. Such reports will no doubt bolster the company’s recent decision to split itself in two. One company will house the production and streaming assets, while the other, laden with debt, will grapple...

‘The Challenge’: Johnny Bananas’ Newest Showmance Sparks Violent Outburst
Image
[Warning: The following post contains spoilers for The Challenge Season 41, Episode 2.] The second episode of The Challenge Season 41, Vets and New Threats, should’ve probably been about the buckwild challenge of the day, or that heated women’s elimination, or the twist T.J. Lavin announced about post-elimination team shakeups, or even the weird position being a “hangnail” puts someone in. Instead, though, Episode 2 of the season — aptly titled, “We Used to Hook Up” — was all about how Johnny Bananas‘ latest hookup turned a muscly rookie into a drunken sadboy who punches walls. Yep, as ostensibly resistant as Dee Valledares was about getting into any kind of cahoots with Johnny in the premiere episode, even expressing ire over being chosen as his partner for fear it’d put a target on her back, that all went out the window in week two. After getting a new partner — perhaps ironically, she chose Leroy Garrett for his tendency to avoid...
